And that cams after Joe Biden and fomented an insurrection. And Liz Cheney went to a critic to share chairing the January 6 attack. Now her father joins this stance which puts democracy above politics or any policies and as a political matter helping to Kamala Harris in a tight race that includes state wheres there are people who still really like the bushcheney policies or as a better republican era than trumpism. And Dick Cheney is telling them vote for Kamala Harris tonight. We know from reporting that he voted against trump last cycle. But he did it with a write in choice an avoided any major campaigning. Whatever capital he had, he didnt use it. He just didnt want to vote for trump. His Vice President , Dick Cheney, who is loud and muscular and rough is doing cha what Dick Cheney does. He had not shared his conservative credentials to help biden or harris, although when Liz Cheney was in her primary, he was clear about the danger of trump. We didnt pull it up. It was straight line of Liz Cheney announcing that position. So, that is the update. Now cheney is an old hand with a lot of Governing Experience. He had that before george w. Bush ever picked him as a running maity. Because across different eras and ideology, most people still agree experience matters. So this is the Dick Cheney news now we turn to the Special Report. And then some of them mix it in with a claim that she was not only inexperienced, but somehow only rising as a kind of inexperienced unqualified diversity pick. They are empirically wrong. This is false and im going to explain why. Some of what the right has been pushing. This woman is not qualified for capable of having the nuclear codes. Has never had a real job in her life. Shes not capable of leading the country. I think she was a dei hire. Completely obsessed with identity over Competence Experience and results. Uncapable and unqualitied person. Unqualified to be our countries commanderinchief. Shes just not ready. All right. Those are factual claims. I told you before, everyone has not only the right, but really the obligation to debate all of our views and opinions and preferences in the campaign. But those are claims about her experience in government. And her qualifications to lead in government. And they are about facts, not opinion. And they are all wrong. And not only factually wrong, but glaringly so compared to most president ial nominees and especially compared to recent republican ones. So ill show you the facts in our Special Report right now. For reagan governor as you see. And voters could see that at the time. That was during their first run for president and they knew that had that Back Ground ever experience. It was a slice of it. Now obama had less time in national office. He was running in senate and had 11 years and trump had zero years in when he ran. Now trump was unusual in so many ways. And that is one where it was known at the time but he claims that coming in fresh was a positive. It was good he didnt have experience he said and he ran against the swamp and you to make that argument. That kind of inexperience was a first. Everyern president at the same time point had experience. Donald trump is the only president ever with no political or military experience running the government with to Government Experience. Those are recent President S in both parties with prewhite House Experience ranging from the unusual, zero, to that high of around a decade. So how does harris compare . Well, here are your facts tonight. Kamala harris, well put this in full. Has more experience than all of them. By a lot. And im going to leave this up for you because i have a lot of different numbers and historical kpars sons but this is the antidote or the lies that i showed you from fox and maga. Not only does she has more experience than all of the other President S as a nominee. But she doubles most of them. She served in elected government positions for 21 years straight and counting. It is telling that a person, in this case Kamala Harris, could literally be the most experienced among nominees in the modern era, as im showing you on the screen and still face political attacks and d. As for politics, recent republican President S versus harris, bush had a six years as govern of texas and trump had none when he was in her position. But if you update the charts to include the Public Service in a is not just elective office and if you ask people around the country, people value other types of Public Service other than just running for office, if you add that, it tacks up even taller. Kennedy and reagan had Military Service to so that adds to the prior Government Service before becoming the nominee and running for office. Obama would stay at 11 years and then if you use that wider Kamala Harris stacks even higher because you have to include her work as a assist d. A. Before running herself plus the many other posts shes held before becoming the nominee. So you see her Color Coating and her total years. Again, far higher stacking, stunting and flexing on these other past nominees at the same point in time. Their first president ial run at a nominee. That is 13 extra years of Government Experience and builds her edge. You boil it all down and what you see on your screen is the ultimate Fact Check to one of the biggest lies circulating about Kamala Harris. And one that people might repeat without knowing it is a lie. You might hear a reasonable person say i heard she wasnt experienced or qualified. I heard she was fast tracked. Dei. It is the opposite. She has this edge over the nominees in both parties and it shows and this is that as she approaches her 60th birthday, she served publicly in some kind of office for over three decades. That turns out not to land with voters. Ond so they do this. But i think there is a deeper issue here with the republican party and Donald Trump in this campaign. Theyre pivoting to experience because their previous lines of attack on harris have not worked. Now if we step back, we have to admit, when Joe Biden was the nominee, Donald Trump had a single message. Im strong and he is weak and everything fed into that. All of that helped reinforce trumps message. Harris has stepped in here, there is now no message. Donald trump tried to say, well im white and shes not really black. That didnt go anywhere. And now theyre trying to talk about experience. Im experienced and shes not. Well, lets talk about Donald Trumps experience. Of course, he was a Game Show Host before becoming president but then when he became president , he lost in 2020, something now he readily admitted. So this is another failed attempt at a message on the part of the Trump Campaign and i think were going to see this continue all the way until Election Day trying and failing to get a successful message against harris. You know, it is interesting when you mention obama, because i think people do casually, even though he had a successful two perm presidency, they remember him as a new face and that attention on the organizer. But i mentioned this in the report, chai, voters tend to credit the choices you make. We know that a lost voters care about Peoples Family because it is telling them how they live their daytoday lives and do they relate. Do you have a family like that. It doesnt have to be the same but weve seen that come up. Family, community, Public Service, doing anything for somebody else, whether it is your kids our your neighbors kids or your fellow citizens in military and other conduct. It says something, right. Is it possible as the public learns more about what harris has done with her many decades, he would say is a that shes ambitious, but she put money first out of law school. The vast majority of graduates from top law schools, they go to big firms and some of them say ill do something else later and some of them never do. She and Obama Share that. Is that a true good story for her. Very much so. I think you have seen harris really emphasize our biography. She did so in her convention speech. And if you look at the polls. It has worked. Her favorable ratings have raised in the last month. The more people see her and learn about her, the more they like her experience and her. She has spent three and a half years preparing to be president and sat on the national security council, shes been briefed in part of nearly every important decision made by the bidenharris administration. I think i have a lot of other Vice President s that i much prefer including Joe Biden when he was Vice President and al gore. But i do think that if you think about histicly it shows how attractive Harriss Candidacy was. And i remember where i was and what i was doing for the Obama Campaign in colorado watching Colin Powell endorse Barack Obama on Meet The Press on sunday morning. It was. I remember in 1992 when admiral william crow, the chairman of the joint Chief Of Staff endorsed Bill Clinton in 1992. That was important. But one thing that is true is that Donald Trump is a pretty skilled debater. But we know that Donald Trump is going to show up too and hes been practicing. And we talked about experience. And harris has more Governing Experience than most nominees.
