Here is what we know at this hour about the shootings in lewiston, maine. At least 22 people have been killed, according to police. 50 to 60 people were wounded at several locations including a Bowling Alley, according to Law Enforcement. A local Medical Center, the central man Medical Center, it was responding to a Mass Casualty Event. Officials have urged residents in lewiston and to shelter in place. That advisement is still in place. The Sheriffs Office has released photos with a man with a rifle. I believe these are the photos needed for identification they are very much soliciting Citizen Responses for an that recognize this man or knows him. The police say that a manhunt is underway for the person allegedly connected to the shootings. Just for contacts, houston is a city of around 37,000 people. It is about 30 miles north of portland. For context, in terms of the casualties here, 29 people were murdered in the state of maine, in 2022, and 29 i am sorry, 22 people so far have been killed with what is still an active Shooter Event unfolding in lewiston this evening. First, my condolences to those affected in your community by this tragedy, this Mass Casualty Event. I wonder if you could tell us a little bit about what is happening in auburn. I believe that there is a shelter in place order that is active in auburn right now, mayor. Thank you for having me, and thank you for that dog. All of our thoughts go out to the people of auburn and lewiston. We are one community, separated by a river. We have an issue shelter in place order. We have canceled school tomorrow, and we are actively pursuing the investigation to find out how to apprehend the suspect. Our thoughts and prayers, first and foremost, go off to the victims. This was, as he set, 35,000 people in lewiston, about 25,000 people an auburn. Plenty to people is a lot. We know these victims, and its a sad day, not just for auburn and lewistown, its a sad day for the country. Indeed, and we know that President Biden has been briefed on the situation. If you could, could you share any details that you may have about the locations where the shooter was active and or the folks that were targeted in this Mass Casualty Event . Right now, we have three locations that were targeted. Center, a lounge bar, if he would, pool hall, one that i have frequented in the pass, and a Bowling Alley. We have three locations, motive is unclear, targets, random, very random. There is no rhyme or reason. This is just absolutely one crime and murder. It does not seem at this point, the situation is only a couple hours old, but there is not seem to be any type of with their cards to victims. We have any sense of, because it is a weak night, were talking about the evening, i would assume its mostly adults frequenting the pool, the pool hall, if it was at walmart, the distribution center, i am not sure about the Bowling Alley though. Do we have any sense of whether there are any minors involved in any of this we dont have anything for sure. We do know based on the time, its predominately adults. Could there be some teenagers involved, yes. There could be. Especially at the Bowling Alley, actually, specifically the Bowling Alley. Thats someplace that my 17yearold son goes to think out he was not there tonight. Yeah. That is a possibility. Well be looking at that. As of right, now this is just a search for a single shooter, is that correct . Correct. And because we have such relatively clear photos of his face, do you know if Law Enforcement has managed to identify this person as of yet . As of right now, its an ongoing investigation. I would not comment on that okay, i understand that. In terms of the Central Maine Medical Center, we know that they were prepared to respond to a Mass Casualty Event. I think i have the statistic, right, that there were 29 murders in maine in the ear 2022, this is a moment when you have 50 to 60 people, that is at the present count, wounded. 22 that, what is the medical response . How is the Central Maine Medical Center prepared to respond to Something Like that in your community more broadly, given the relatively quiet nature of lewistown, maine and auburn . I can confirmed a number of casualties or fatalities at this point. Its a fluid situation, as im sure you can appreciate i know the folks at Central Maine Medical Center very well, including they want to demean Medical Center in portland, the main General Hospital in augusta, all relatively close these are great professionals they come from a broad background i am sure i do know that these men or women are actually unbelievable people, including the First Responders the First Responders and paramedics. It dont turn for this. You train for this, i was in the army for a few years back in my younger years. You train for a lot of things, spun till you go through it, its hard. Its difficult, but i know these individuals. I am sure that they are rising to the challenge right now, and everybody is a victim getting the best possible medical care that the. Another Mass Shooting, where at least 22 people have been killed and 50 to 60 wounded in what is being termed a Mass Casualty Event that took place across three locations, including a Bowling Alley. This is what we know right now, the suspect remains at large, police have ordered residents of lewistown and auburn, maine to shelter in place and to lock the doors. Police also released an image of the suspect holding a long gun entering the Bowling Alley. You can see here that the shooter is showing his face. He is not attempting to conceal his identity. They also released this photo of the vehicle of interest that the suspect may have been driving. For context here, lewistown is the second largest city in maine. It is a relatively small city with about 38,000 people. It is maines second largest city. I want to turn again to msnbc senior Law Enforcement analystcentric alexander. Such a, if you could help me understand, we are awaiting a Press Conference here from local Law Enforcement. We just spoke to the mayor of neighboring alborn, or there is a shelter in place advisement in effect. The fact that folks are being urged to stay indoors, locked indoors, and outLaw Enforcement is having, presumably, eminently, having a Press Conference, does that tell you that this is still very much an active situation and they have not yet apprehended the shooter . From all the indication right now, alex, it is a very active environment there in that community, and until the subject is brought to justice, it will continue to be so. I think here, wouldnt hopefully some reasonable amount of time, there will be a presser, where the community at large, and the rest of the country will have some idea as to hopefully who the subject is, and how far they began the investigation, here again, as long as it does not get in the way of the work. I think that, at this very moment, this is a very active scene, quite sure, a lot of witnesses, a lot of Video Footage from surrounding businesses, et cetera, are going to be pulled and examined closely, and they have a process in which their locally will work with state and federal Law Enforcement in helping to identify this individual. Cedric, i am struck, these numbers are staggering, 22 dead and a shooting, 50 to 60 injured, that is of this hour. That is anabsolute, a Staggering Number of people. Again, or trying to confirm the timeline here, but that may have happened in one hour from a single shooter. All shootings are worthy of remark and grief, but this is on a different order of magnitude. In some ways, it is. Of course, we have seen these unfortunate high counts before, but this is a significant high body count of people to have died tonight, people severely injured. Here again, the severity of this event in and of itself is of huge concern in their community. You have police there in the community, of course, advising citizens to stay inside, as this Investigation Continues throughout that city and thats surrounding area. I think they are also encouraging people, as we have heard already, alex, that if they know this individual, if they think they have seen this individual as someone who may be remotely to them, will be to notify, so that at least it can be checked out and investigated. The fact that this individual so openly entered these places of where he did great injury and brought death to some people. His face. That he did not the fact that it appears that he acted so boldly, the fact that he appears to have moved from one place to another place to another place, suggests to me that this may have been well planned out by him, without regard to being identified. Or maybe he is someone that is so far in the shadows of and the individual, where he is not concerned about being identified. I think a lot here will hopefully, as the hours and days go on, wont know more. I hope that this subject can be brought to brought into custody tonight because, the longer he is out there, he is a great danger to the community, wherever he may be tonight. Absolutely. I want to interrupt for a moment in. We have news from the Justice Department this evening. The Attorney General, Merrick Garland, has been briefed that it will continue to closely monitor the situation. Federal Law Enforcement agencies are assisting local Law Enforcement partners in lewiston, maine. I want to break in here by phone, Frank Figliuzzi, former fbi and msnbc National Security. Frank, do we have you . Yes, we do, on camera, no less. Frank, the fact that the president has been briefed on this, the Attorney General has been briefed on this, federal resources are being allocated for this. Is on par with a Mass Casualty Event, 22 dead, 60 injured. Can you talk about in greater detail about the handshake between federal agencies and local Law Enforcement . What specifically do you think, for example, the fbi will be assisting local Law Enforcement with . First, alex, and terms that the gravity of what were looking at right here, this will be in the top ten, unfortunately, top ten worst Mass Shootings in our history. In fact, if you separate this from a Mass Shooting and call it a spree shooting, we may be even higher up than the top ten. That is why you see the president being briefed on this. That is the level that were at. Now with regard to the handshake between federal, state and local. Look, in the early hours of this, it was seamless. There was no talk about, hey, whos got this . Who is the lead agency . But rather, its all hands on deck. We are all responding to contain the subject, neutralize the subject and then figure out together. The fbis main concern here, in addition to all the resources and support, the crime scene and technical capabilities that the fbi has, which by the way, could be employed right now, as we are speaking, its possible that Technical Resources are being used to locate the shooter, and then the key question is is there any nexus to hate crime or terrorism . That will bring in federal jurisdiction, but absent that indication, which you dont yet have this early on, then we are looking at investigative support for the federal agencies. When we talk about the fact that this individual may not longer be in the vehicle he used, presumably again, the details are busy, to go between what is being reported as three different locations, this is a small town, relatively a small city, relatively speaking. I am having a hard time understanding whether that is advantageous to Law Enforcement apprehending him, or whether that makes their task for me infinitely more complicated like finding a needle in a haystack . Thats a good question, because you can argue this either way. If you got a subject that you are pursuing a known vehicle, i would argue that that is easier than pursuing the unknown. Whats the unknown . Where is he . Where is he on foot . A seat in a closet . A basement, an attic, where is . Has he done himself harm . This is far more difficult, if he has actually left the vehicle and Hunkered Down somewhere if the reporting is correct that there has not been any sound of gunfire lately, then it may well be that he is down for the night, Hunkered Down, hiding or has escaped the perimeter somehow, or has done harm to himself. We know, frank, that lewiston Public Schools will be closed tomorrow. The shelter in place directive is still active for residents of lewistown and auburn. The main Medical Center is dealing with what they termed the Central Maine Center is doing what we have termed a Mass Casualty Event. We have a post from the fbi boston, aubrey to you. They continue to coordinate with the local, state and federal Law Enforcement partners in maine, and we stand ready to assist with any available resources that they need, including evidence response, investigative and tactical support, as well as victim assistance. If you arent laufman, frank and i know im asking you to imagine the unimaginable to some degree. If you are Law Enforcement in the situation, and you have a situation where the active shooter as not been apprehended, perhaps not identified, citizens are being asked to stay indoors, what more do you want to see in terms of securing a community . Creating a perimeter around a city, even though its a medium or small sized city, is quite the task, with limited Law Enforcement resources. You want to search every possible Law Enforcement resources. That means, in the state of maine, your game board, efficient wild, all federal agents in small Satellite Offices maine is headquartered out of boston, has Satellite Offices in maine. Youre going to get everybody you can to establish a perimeter or at least circled the last known location. You are going to have air support, helicopters and aircraft to be brought in. The tactical resources, you cant have enough technically trained agents and officers. The main state police, fbi, local city police, will have to technical officers out of their homes and responding to this. They will create a joint operation center, so its not chaos, its coordinated, they have been rehearsing this, i am sure so they understand what a joint Incident Command Center looks like. They have done this before, at least in a dry run. The Victim Witness Program of the fbi is outstanding. They can come in and offered to set up the family notification center. That is grim business. Having people family saying, look, i have not heard from my loved one tonight. They go to the central location, awake the news, and there are trained counselors and clergy there, all of this is sadly, ouy times ah just the gram painful work of being a victim, in victim assist in a night were 22 people are dead, 50 to 60 injured. Frank, i wonder, kamala harris, joe biden, Merrick Garland all have been briefed on this. In terms of the federal government being brought into the picture, are they on, that have been, which was a good strong indicator that this would be, again, a Mass Casualty Event, a tragedy. These numbers, frank, though we have been here before, are staggering 22 people that, 50 to 60 injured. Again, we think its from a single shooter in the course of about an hour. In that way, frank, you are contextualizing this in terms of other Mass Casualty Events, this is, i dont know what the right word to use is. I dont want to say stork, but this is certainly one of the deadliest hours in American History can imagine. Just the contacts here, not that it matters at all to the families of the victims, los vegas, the country western music concert, we looked at 60 that there. Were all familiar with uvalde and sandy hook elementary school. So this is a spree shooting. I am having trouble in my mind differentiating between a mass shooter, which tends to be in one location or a serial killer, who kills many but the so over long periods of time, years, sometimes. And a Spree Shooter. A Spree Shooter is a different animal, a different category for people who study these things because they keep going until they stop. Its a consistent, Realtime Incident that plays out continuously until the shooter is stopped so, we have to wonder, if he has stopped himself already, whether hes decided to do harm to himself or was incapacitated in some way i hold out hope, alex, that all the photographic imagery from the Security Cameras has helped the police. You talk to the city official recently, ask the hard question, hey, did the police have he gave a careful, understandable answer, but he did not say no. They had no idea. He said that this is an ongoing investigation. I am hoping that the police know who this is, that people called 911 and said i recognize this individual. If that is true, interfering coworkers and Family Members, finding out if there are storage facilities. All this myth more challenging but the possibility that he has set up traps for a Law Enforcement residences or other locations. They have to approach this with great caution. Indeed, we do. Frank ill give you a break here. Well go over to clint watts, National Security analysts. Clint, when you hear about this death toll, and d. C. The pictures of this individual who managed to inflict a great deal of pain and death initial amount of time, what are you thinking in terms of Potential Profile of an individual who can use what looks to be a sort of ar15 style weapon so effectively so quickly . Alex, i think the question that comes to mind, especially with these images, when you look at how the individual holds that weapon, its hard to understand multiple magazines those high capacity magazines. Those are things goodwin to determine, looking at the scope and flashlight, thats a tactical sit that someone put together. So the question is always, did this Person Build It on their own . Do they have assistance . Is there a group . It seems to be a lone shooter. And the other thing is, the pants and here you see the air, i cant see it very well. But those looked to be targeted cargo pants of technical pants, military style clothing, Law Enforcement style clothing. So when you add all of that, up within this pattern repeatedly. Which is, these mass shooters are mimicking what they see on social media or television, or trying to compete and selves, bring something from past lives with them. So there is going to be a lot of concern. What is this persons capability. How well did he know to plan and attack. Did he do any rehearsals . We have seen this in previous attacks, particularly with terrorism. But also it with mask shootings, people doing reconnaissance or putting out their rehearsals. And just looking at the body count. Skilled with weapons would result not only an engagement more targets, but higher casualty rates, higher number of people being wounded. So those are the questions, i just dont know enough about it right now. And im sure we are waiting to hear from the Press Conference. But when you see 22 dead, 50 to 60 injured, and as you sit at the start of the broadcast, alex, very short amount of time. Multiple targets and multiple locations. This is just the Worst Nightmare i think that anyone can have. As someone who might potentially be targets unsuspecting and knowing of whats coming. And then you look at that locations and the time of day the terrorist struck, there might be a lot more people in those locations, whether its a bolton l. A. Or another location. When youre talking about you can have more targets and a very confined area. And you might remember back to the attack in ohio a few years ago, where a bar was struck by somebody with a Semi Automatic Weapon and many people were wounded, almost instantly. So that would be a lot of the concern right here. I think, how will train the person is. And that goes to the apprehension which, if Law Enforcement does with this individual, as frank noted, if we have lost track of him. The most dangerous situation, somebody whos not hiding themselves, not trying to avoid the violence, but leaning into the violence, on the move with an Assault Weapon and possibly knows how to use. It thats a very situation dangerous situation for Law Enforcement, and would suggest more violence to come when the train and prevent that individual. So i think its very concerning for all Law Enforcement tonight. As we all are. Clint watts, thank you for your thoughts, as we try to make sense of all of this. I want to bring in now nbc news correspondent tom winter. Tom, we know its a fluid situation. What can you tell us at this hour . The individual is still at large, alex, by every indication that we have at this point is that authorities do know the individuals name. We are aware of that individuals name. Once we feel that we have more confirmation, well bring that to you right away. The individual perhaps is known for Mental Illness issues, particularly Mental Illness issues in the recent pass. This individual is still wanted. They are not in Police Custody as i speak here, or at least within the last five minutes or so the numbers that you reported, 22 dead, 50 to 60 injured and multiple scenes, including a Bowling Alley in lewiston, maine. Right now, there are on the lookout for a particular video, which may or may not have been found. We are still trying to get some clarity on that. I will withhold some details. Youre looking at the vehicle right there, but on facebook by the local police department, the agency that is initially investigating this along with the main state police, that white car right there, that is what they have been looking for, so we are withholding a couple of details as well, so as not to tip the individual off, and they are listening in this day in age, with how much our programming is streamed and available in so many places, we want to be careful of that. Thats what we know so far. Were trying to dig into more information about the individuals past and history, including any prior contact with the enforcement that date me be unrelated to this or be a threat. I think the important thing to keep in mind, and something top of mind, not just with a Lot Enforcement Reporters like myself but everybody in the country as to whether or not anybody could have been doing this as an act of terrorism. I know it is certainly terrifying what occurred in name tonight, but we have to keep in mind that terrorism, as it is defined in law and forsman is somebody acting out, committing a specific act of violence to further a cause. There is no indication that that is the motive here, at least at this stage of the investigation. In plain english, with the i mean by that, effectively here, we are not getting any sort of sense that this individual has been motivated by any sort of hate or specific ideology to any sort of specific group of people, but i do caution, and we have seen this happen in numerous other investigations in the past, that it is early. Well enforcement has not made contact with the individual, they have any sort of writing on their person, will he tell Police Anything when hopefully taken into custody . That remains to be seen as well, so its early in the investigation, still trying to gather more information . The numbers are obviously significant, and this individual that you look at on screen is the individual believed to have obviously done this. He is holding the assault style rifle, and there will be questions asked whether or not he has anything in his criminal history, which would have prohibited him from legally holding, buying or purchasing this particular weapon a lot of questions that need to be answered, the most important for Law Enforcement at this stage, we are told, is obviously finding at the individual. I think this individual most recent Mental Health situation, if you will will be closely looked at here, and on the investigation goes from that standpoint remains to be seen, but that is what we know so far more details as we get them, as we get things confirmed, and we believe were in a spot to obviously not hinder any ongoing manhunt for this person. But theyre now thinking there might be another current volley. They have a perimeter situp in lisbon by The Boat Ramp where that car was found, but now theyre thinking there is possibly a second vehicle, possibly a pick up truck, black in color. And thats being put out to the public to look out for. So they are trying to get the public to put information back into the system and these apps now, were starting to see Technology Help with some of the communication that i think loan fragments had before. So it sounds like hes spoken about this to Family Members, and theyre saying, maybe not a shooting but he had grievances because they were saying, hey, this must be the next place. So they have already convicted his Family Members and are starting to get insight into where he might be going next. Let me just say, rob, we very much appreciate the reporting that you have. Apparently they understand he has a history of Mental Illness. I wonder, rob, there is the sort of gold shoe leather way of tracking someone down, but theres also the elegant look for and that an individual leaves behind. And i wonder how you think that might be brought to appear in a moment like this. Cell phone communications, other ways of tracking an individual like this. That cell phone is one of the best ways. Obviously, the people that are to win that, this happened at eight at night, i probably got recalled in and theyre probably getting out there. Now in different types of cell phone analytical technology, there are definitely going with. That they were trying to, im sure theyve got a phone number if that know who it is. Family wise, got a phone number so that can go up on it and start looking at towers and other things, if he still has it on him. With the vehicle, him possibly getting another vehicle, you would also look at their trickle. The person who owns, that im assuming it was stolen or carjacked or something. Does that vehicle have tracking technology, so many of them do. Be it from serious radio, could be other components and the vehicle he can track. Trying to come up on with those two. So there are given everything. Just the public and asking pam. All the police, getting involved and trying to predict maybe for someones going. And then starting to use technology to help them track him down. We know, at this hour, that the Press Conference that was scheduled to take place last hour and again this hour has been delayed. We dont know when its happening. I want to bring in Frank Figliuzzi, former fbi assistant director of National Intelligence and msnbc National Security analyst. I want to read that latest from the white house. President biden spoke on the phone to governor janet mills and congressman about the shooting in lewiston and offered full federal support in the wake of this horrific attack. Also notes, biden stepped out of the state dinner to make these cold and he is no longer at the event. We know that Attorney General garland has been briefed on this. Vice president harris has been briefed on this. The top tiers of our federal government are engaged on this, including the president , Vice President , and a. G. As i just said. What is the scope of this response tell you, both about the likelihood that this individual will be apprehended soon, and also, how the administration, how low enforcement is the thing about the gravity of this movement, of the casualties the Staggering Number of casualties of this attack and that way in which a community has been profoundly affected . When you see all the federal agencies contributing their resources from washington on down, it remains that literally, people are at Atf Headquarters and washington there at fbi headquarters now and theyre doing nothing but focusing on who this person is, where they ever came across this person in the federal system before. Atf has his work cut out for it as it will begin, often, to hand search records. I know people think this massive dead base for the federal government can easily determine whos got what done, and i wish that were the case. But its not. And so theyre going to be Hand Searching in many cases, trying to figure out where this gun came from. Was it ever reported stolen . Its looking like Police Activity is picking up, as rob and i worked with sources frank. There are close to knowing who this is and it looked into who it is right. Now im sorry to interrupt you, frank. We are, as you can tell, dealing with a lot of moving parts here. I want to bring in clint watts. Clint, the fact that this Police Presser, which i think a lot of folks who have been speaking to this evening it was a sign that the Police Wanted to update the public, that perhaps they had made progress. The fact that Police Presser has been delayed, how do you read the situation . And how do you rate the latest that we have, the report we had from nbc news, that this individual has been named. They are not pulisic that name. He has a history of recent main illness as well. How does that comport with the profile that is emerging in your mind . Alex, at least on the fourth, part in terms of a Press Conference, why do you have . When It Pistols Information from the public or to up to the public on something that you already know. And that usually do that towards the close out or the end of an investigation. And this seems to be neither situation. Now maybe an hour ago, when we were on air, possibly they were searching for more information or needed it. But as frank and rob were talked about, it seems like it may be underway. Theyve got a lot going on and are probably in pursuit. And if they are in pursuit, didnt want to stop and try to do a Press Conference or have things unfold concurrently. Separately, we were talking probably over the last 4 to 40 minutes, but the spectrum of motivations and one of the Big Questions was, is it something ideological motivating him towards terrorism. There were no real indications of that, at least from the outset. And what we heard from tom winter wasnt details about potential Mental Illness, other specific to this individual, quickly known, maybe known to the community. And so not obviously a shock to the community, but maybe not someone that they dont know about. And so that goes to those individual grievances. So if the individual had these grievances, and we combine that with Mental Illness, has access to a weapon, knows how to use it, just based on the position of rifle, the way theyre moving and these pictures, thats your worstcase scenario. And thats probably really troubling for Law Enforcement right now. And at least in terms of its spectrum from individual to group or ideological motivations it seems now leaning towards individual motivations now and im waiting for that Press Conference for more details to merge it seems like somebody known to the community and think it narrowed, and i, think maybe a little more in terms of motivation. Yeah. Do we still have Frank Figliuzzi . Control room . Frank, can i bring you in here to pick it back on what we just noted, the difficulty and they have often defied this individual, the history of recent Mental Illness. He was potentially known to the community. The difficulty of finding someone whos acting on his own, a lone wolf if you will, from a Law Enforcement perspective. Can you shed some light on that . If someone has already sort of marginalized in the community, may not be as engaged because of the Mental Illness. Just tracking that individual, does it become even harder . The known Mental Illness is a factor in everything from how he might even try to negotiates, if you even had a chance to negotiate with this person, the Hostage Negotiators would want to know all of that information. I do find it interesting, maine has a very unique law and place. We are aware of Red Flag Laws were police can take a weapon while they work for a threat and if you pick out weapon in due process if the result of the threat. Maine has something referred to as a Yellow Flag Law, which requires a Mental Health professional to sign off on Law Enforcement taking your weapon from you. Thats an interesting scenario. And if into this person is well known to Mental Health professionals, and we dont quite know that yet, it raises the issue of whether or not its a law that is viable. Whether or not asking a Mental Health professional to get involved in a Law Enforcement solution is something that works or. Not but its something that caught my attention. Because im not aware of any other state that has the socalled Yellow Flag Law. Frank, what do you make of the ruthless efficacy with which this individual appearance to have killed so very many people, in terms of a profile . I know i asked clint this in the last hour, but do you have thoughts on the profile . Argue thinking, its a profile emerging in your head . A man who may have been acting by himself is not interested in concealing his face . May i understand that it is, this could be his and at the hands of Law Enforcement, potentially, or his own hand . Given the gravity of the situation, do you, is a pro for emerging of who this person may be in your own mind . Its so early. But i will tell you, this when you are dealing with a spree killer versus a serial killer, its a different scenario. Its something that is impulsive, even though he may have been thinking, obsessing about this. When he decided to do, its the Mental Health factor interest in to the randomness of the targets. So while we always want to apply logic to an investigation, why did he hit this place . What did he hit that place . The reality often and these cases is, once you figure it out, you havent figured it out. Because admit perfect saints to the shooter, but no one else. So it may have been just a slightest offense that was taken at a business or over a business transaction, or he didnt like somebodys look or they turned him down for a job somewhere. And all of this just keeps piling up. And thats likely what we see with Spree Shooters. Its also very dangerous. They dont stop until they stop themselves or Law Enforcement neutralizes them. A Mass Shooting has occurred tonight in lewiston, maine. At least 22 people have been killed. 50 to 60 people have been wounded. The shooter appears to have targeted several locations, including a Balloon Elliott. This image released by the police shows the shooter entering that Balloon Elliott holding a long gone. The fbis assistant Law Enforcement on the ground who may, at this hour, know the suspect identity. Theyre not releasing his name to the public. You can see here, at the shooter is not interested in concealing his face. But at this hour, that should remain at large. Residents of lewiston and nearby alborn are being told by police to shelter in place, to lock their doors. Police are also asking residents to call not want what f that recognize the shooter in the images released, or of than anything about his whereabouts. Again, this 22 people have been killed and dozens wounded in the city of lewiston, maine. We are expecting Law Enforcement to update us momentarily. But i wonder, as someone who specializes and understanding what happens in these kinds of crime scenes, what are the questions you have . I think the big ones, alex, are about access to weapons. Frank told about we talk about Red Flag Laws and Yellow Flag Law and maine and how to this person and up with a weapon, particularly an assault rifle. And just looking at this, who are there any indications this individual might do Something Like this . If it is true, that were having some Mental Health issues, when you look at that weapon, you are looking at the optics on the top, youre looking at the tactical light on the bottom. You are seeing what appears to be high capacity magazines. I cant do and close enough, but maybe even double magazines in and assault configuration. This is particular troubling. I think the next part is, if the target for unknown to the individual, and we have suspicious activity before, did low enforcement know about . It did the public know about . It did the Community Know about it . Those are the tips and leads Everybody Needs to know to stop Something Like this from happening.
