Lib, yemen, turkey and iran, warning this war will plunge the region into an unspeakable disaster. What does that mean . And did President Bidens meeting with Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu help the situation or hurt it . Hes on his way back to the United States right now, and though his inperson meeting with the leaders of egypt, jordan and the west bank was cancelled after that Hospital Explosion, the white house says hes still going to be talking to those leaders. What u. S. Intelligence will he show them to try and prove the Hospital Explosion was not an israeli rocket. But a misfire from gazas Islamic Jihad as our intelligence in the u. S. Suggests it is. And will those leaders even believe it, and even if they do, is it going to matter to the arab street . Joining us now from israel is nbc news Foreign Correspondent, raf sanchez. I know there are Big Questions surrounding all of this. Let us start with what we know right now, what we can say right now. Reporter katy, its been a little more than 24 hours since that explosion at the hospital in gaza city. A lot of questions, as you say, heres what we know the the Israeli Military over the course of the day has been presenting evidence that it says shows that it was not an israeli air strike that caused this explosion. It was, in fact, a misfired Palestinian Rocket. Two main pieces of evidence, one, they showed us drone footage. They had a drone over this hospital. When you look at the drone footage, something is missing. That something is a crater, which is what you would expect to see if an israeli heavy bomb, heavy ordinance dropped from a fighter aircraft, had caused this explosion. Instead they say theres no crater, minimal damage to the buildings in the surrounding area. The israelis have released what they say is an intercepted conversation between two hamas officials in which its in arabic, in which you can hear these people seemingly acknowledging that it was a Palestinian Rocket that misfired. We should be really really clear. Nbc news has not been able to independently verify all either of these israeli claims. We cannot get into gaza. We cannot walk the ground in the hospital. You may hear a boom behind me just now, so it is really really hard to know, but the United States is saying its own assessment matches israels. Two senior u. S. Officials telling your colleague courtney kube, they assess it was an Islamic Jihad air strike. People and leaders all across the region are committed to this narrative now, that it was an israeli air strike, and that includes leaders that President Biden is working the phones with as we speak on Air Force One on the way back to washington. The president of egypt and the king of jordan, both of whom are close u. S. Partners. Both of whom have adamantly condemned israel, both of whom have populations that are boiling at the scenes they are seeing on their televisions from gaza, and exactly as you said, it is not at all clear that there is anything either the israelis or the president can say that will change anybodys mind. Were going slide by slide through the evidence that israel says it has, and we have been able to find as well in a moment. Raf, i want to ask you about the other news, President Biden, while he was there, he was able to get an assurance from Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu to allow some aid in. Explain the details of this. Right. So President Biden sat in on a meeting of israels war cabinet, and he expressed american solidarity, he expressed american understanding that israel feels that this operation in gaza has to end with the toppling of hamas. Interestingly, katy, he cautioned israel to learn from the lessons and the mistakes that the United States made after 9 11 where you had a country consumed by anger, following a massive, massive terrorist attack, but the president said the United States made mistakes in those moments. He did say he received a commitment from the israelis, the humanitarian aid would be allowed into gaza. Take a listen to what the president said. The people of gaza need food, water, medicine, shelter. Today i ask the Israeli Cabinet who i met for some time this morning to agree to the delivery of life saving humanitarian assistance to civilians in gaza, based on the understanding there will be inspections, the aid should go to civilians, not to hamas. The humanitarian assistance can begin to move from egypt to gaza. Let me be clear, if hamas diverts or steals the assistance, they will have demonstrated once again that they have no concern for the welfare of the palestinian people. Reporter now, katy, what hes saying is he has a commitment from the israelis to allow aid to flow from egypt through the rafah crossing into gaza. But katy, we have been here before. There has been american optimism about rafah opening up, about egyptian aid crossing over, about Palestinian Americans being able to leave, and every time that optimism has been dashed, this is a fiendishly complicated 3d jigsaw puzzle. Its one thing to have the israelis agree to it. You also need egyptian buyin. You need hamas buyin. We will wait and see if the rafah crossing no aid from israel into gaza. Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying absolutely not until the hostages are free. Theres also growing concern within israel that netanyahu is not making the right decisions now, hes clouded by his own political prospects after all of this, and i just want to underscore what you said a moment ago. I see you looking back. I imagine youre hearing a few more things. You may be able to see, katy, these are flares off in the distance. This is the Israeli Military illuminating the area near the gaza border. Got it. Reporter you may be able to see theyre kind of hovering in the air. Thats so Israeli Ground troops can see with visibility whats going on on the other side of the border. Got it. Just to underscore the warning about after 9 11. We made massive mistakes after 9 11 that just destroyed swaths of The Middle East, created a vacuum for isis and embedded deeply anger toward, and mistrust of the United States. President biden warning dont do what we did. Raf sanchez, thank you, as always, and you can see the building anger in the city of ra ramala, and Richard Engel has more from the ground there. I give you a sense of what is happening here. These young men are throwing stones using slingshots at israeli troops, and if you look up behind me over here, you can see an israeli jeep, for now they are holding that position. They have, however, been firing what looks like live ammunition. We saw a young man shot earlier in the leg. He was carried off, taken to an ambulance. In other places, the protests are much larger. In beirut, in front of the u. S. Embassy, there are many protesters ther gathered, expressing outrage, blaming israel, and Lebanese Security forces are trying to clear them out. There have been protests in lebanon, other parts of lebanon. There have been protests in turkey, and the concern is that this outrage after an incident that caused so much death and destruction in gaza could inflame tensions in The Middle East at just the worst time as israel is preparing possibly for a Ground Offensive inside the gaza strip and the United States, with President Biden not far from here, and israel a different looking place than here, trying to calm things down, support israel, and prevent this ongoing conflict between israel and hamas from escalating into a wider war across the arab world. Thats Richard Engel reporting from hamala the the top of the show we said we were going to have a step by step on what we know, what israel has provided, the u. S. Has provided, can you walk us through the images . Sure, we heard raf talk about it earlier, the fact that we have two senior u. S. Officials who say they believe this was an Islamic Jihad rocket that missed its target, fell short and landed on the hospital. You have the ids which dove tails with that. They held a Press Conference where they went through their points, providing a number of visuals, the first being this one. The rocket didnt hit the hospital but instead this parking lot, and one of the things they point out in this image, katy, is you see this dotted line here that there would be peripheral damage to these buildings if it had been an israeli missile. The idf also says you have to look at the size of the crater. If it was an israeli missile, the crater would be a significant size, between 20 and 60 feet. They provided another image of previous israeli missiles striking here, and then alongside that parking lot, and we have a daytime image, too, of that parking lot where you can see a crater. One of the things that the idf said as well is that hamas was aware early on that this was an Islamic Jihad rocket but wanted to broadcast that the Israeli Military was responsible for it to help ignite some of the tension youre seeing all over the region. Steph, when you look at this image there, the crater youre talking about is dead center above those burned out cars or in the middle of the burned out cars and the Israeli Government is saying thats not the kind of crater that usually is create bid idf rockets . Yeah, theyre saying that an israeli missile would leave something much much greater in size, but, you know, one of the things we have to say as well, katy. Youve got two competing narratives, some would be verifiable, potentially if we were on the ground, and we are not. American journalists are not on the ground to kind of compare these narratives at all. We have to trust whats being said to us by either side. Like i said, they are conflicting, and when you listen to what the israeli jihad says or hamas says about this attack, they say that actually look at the damage, which is what the idf says. The damage is considerable. They say that the missile, the israeli missile hit the hospital, it did the kind of damage only a missile could do. They talk about casualties in the hundreds, although thats a number thats not verifiable. They also say that in the minutes and hours preceding it that they received a warning from the Israeli Military to leave the area that there was going to be a strike, and finally, one of the things that hamas has pointed out is that the idf has said things and then had to walk them back. Specifically a palestinian journalist shot and killed a while ago. The idf said that was Palestinian Militants responsible for her death. They then realized that it was the Israeli Military. They came out and said that it was the Israeli Military that was responsible for her death. Were going to ask someone about that in a moment. Again, nbc news cant confirm this because nbc news currently does not have any reporters on the ground in gaza. We cant get in there right now, so we cant see this for ourselves. Stephanie, thank you very much. Up next, the audio of a hamas official. Richard engel, you can see him talking to that hamas official. Hes telling Richard What Hamas needs to release all civilian hostages. What does israel say back, a Senior Adviser to Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu joins me in 60 seconds. Benjamin netanyahu joins me in 60 seconds tourists tourists that turn into scientists. Tourists taking photos that are analyzed by ai. So researchers can help life underwater flourish. Joining us know, ambassador mark regev, a former israeli ambassador to the uk. Thank you so much for joining us mr. Ambassador. Let me ask you again about in explosion at the hospital in gaza. It is so important to get this right. Its inflamed so much of the region. Tell me everything that israel says it knows about that explosion and why israel is adamant it was not, why Benjamin Netanyahu, the idf says it was not them. So, first of all, we dont target hospitals, and so thats policy. Theres always the possibility that it was mistaken fire. And we checked ourselves, and we didnt find any examples of that. And then we looked at videos and we looked at video from the el jazier network, and they had a video that showed the missiles going up, and over the hospital and one falling. There was an israeli video that corroborated the same thing taken on our side of the frontier. All of this is public information. You can look at the videos yourself. And we also had an intelligence intercept of two hamas operatives talking where they actually admit that they know that this was an Islamic Jihad rocket. Now, this is not a surprise. In the past, weve seen many of the rockets of Islamic Jihad malfunction. Some people put the statistics up close to 30 . And they malfunction, they fall short. And they land in gaza, and sometimes with fatalities. There was a documented case in the last round of fighting in 2022. There was an Islamic Jihad rocket that landed on a refugee camp inside the gaza strip. Obviously it was aimed at us. At the time, everybody said israel, israel, israel, and we proved conclusive with video images saying the rocket take off, the trajectory, the malfunction, that was the case this time. You shouldnt be surprised that hamas of course, i mean, to be frank, weve seen how brutal they are. We see they have no qualms about killing innocent people, and so i dont think you should be surprised that they have qualms about, no qualms about being very very liberal, very very untruthful. Liberal and loose with the facts. Dishonest i think is the word you were looking for as well. Correct. Let me ask you respectfully about credibility. I know our reporter mentioned it. Israel walked back claims it did not do something before, most notably, the killing of a palestinianamerican journalist last year. Idf says it wasnt them. It was palestinian power. It was the idf, is there a Credibility Problem here when you say you didnt do something, maybe theres a lot of people in the arab street who say, listen, you said that before, and it wasnt true. First, ill ask you the first question. Youve got a democratic country which has checks and balances, and you have a terrorist groups. You have to ask yourself whos more credible. Thats the first thing. The second thing is i can give you documented cases in the past, we made a mistake, and after investigation we have admitted to the mistake. There was a case in one of the previous rounds of fighting where there were three boys on the beach in gaza, they were killed. We investigated and did release a statement saying a target was misidentified and they were killed by israeli fire. So when we make a mistake, we do admit it. On the case of that particular journalist, there is a Question Mark whether it was israeli fire or palestinian fire. We say its possible it was israeli fire, and were still not sure. The truth is no one is sure. There was an american investigation and that was also inconclusive, got to be careful about the case of the journalist as well. Its not conclusive who was responsible for her death. Until today. Let me ask you about the aid getting into gaza. I know Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to not block aid from coming into egypt. Its not clear when thats going to happen. There are a lot of people who look at the suffering in gaza right now of the people, not of hamas, of the people drinking toilet water, for instance, in order to survive. And theyll ask israel, i understand the grief and the anger and the desire to root out hamas, i dont understand why all of gaza, including the 2 million civilians have to suffer for it as well. So the israeli position is as follows, the borders between israel and gaza will remain closed. As long as there are 200 people kidnapped and held by hamas in gaza, we cannot have business as usual. Theres a situation of war in the gaza strip, and those crossings will remain closed. Hamas has to understand, you cant take them hostage and do all sorts of horrific things you reported on msnbc and expect that the crossings would be open for trade and supplies to come in. Its just an illogical expectation. Now, what we have said, and this is one of the outcomes of the president s visit, which was a good visit, a healthy visit. It was very much appreciated by the israelis that he came and showed solidarity, we will not object to splice coming in through the egyptian frontier. Thats not our frontier. Thats the border between sovereign egyptian territory and the gaza strip. We will not obstruct that. The only thing we ask and President Biden stated it because the americans also agree with the israeli position that we have to have assurances that hamas is not siphoned away aid for their military machine. They do not steal the aid for their own fighters. There was a documented case two days ago where Fuel Supplies came into the gaza strip. Israel didnt object. We were told it was for generators in gaza hospitals, and of course thats a justified humanitarian request. But we know for a fact that hamas stole a large part of that petroleum, that petrol, that gas. And we presume it went to their military machine. And heres the problem that let me ask you this. Hold on because were running out of time, and your window is closing on us. When were talking about your fight, who is your fight with . Is it with hamas or with the people of gaza . Because they havent had an election in 17 years, and you cant exactly say all of them are supporting hamas. They dont have a choice right now on what happens next. Half the population is children. Who is the fight with . Is it with hamas or with all of the gazans there because right now all of the gazans are suffering for what hamas did. First of all, unequivocally, were targeting hamas, were not targeting the civilian population of gaza. How can you say that when aid cant get through . Well, we didnt stop the aid going through. There was six Petroleum Vehicles to bring petrol to the people of gaza, to bring gas to them. Hamas stole that. And i think the International Community has to be clear, and as President Biden said, we have to have assurances. There have to be arrangements on the ground to make sure that if people are getting aid for gaza that that aid goes to who its intended to go through, and surely thats a justified demand. And if hamas is going to siphon gas from the people of gaza, thats whats happening, thats unacceptable. And people must understand who is preventing the people of gaza from receiving aid. And shouldnt be supporting the hamas regime. The images from october 7th, what happened in israel on october 7th is unawful, unspeakably awful, terrible. Whats happening with the hostages is terrible, but are you worried about losing International Support when the images of what is happening to people in gaza are also horrible, drinking toilet water, fleeing south, not having anywhere to go, not having food, not having water, not having medical aid. Are you concerned about losing International Support . First of all, because we dont see the people of gaza as the target of our offensive, on the contrary, were trying to save lives by asking them to leave areas of conflict. Do that because its the right thing to do. We had President Biden here today, the german chancellor yesterday, the british Prime Minister tomorrow, the french president after that, and theres strong support for israel. People understand that we have to fight back and hit back hamas hard. We dont want to see civilians getting caught up in the cross fire. I would like to be able to tell you that not a single civilian is going to get hurt. Unfortunately i cant make that promise, not because im an evil person but because every conflict in recent history theres not been a war without civilians getting hurt. We will make aax effort as the United States would, other democratic countries would, to prevent civilian categories. Thats not in our interest. We dont want it, well make a maximum effort to avoid it. I just want to say. Go ahead. If our goal is minimum civilian harm, its clear that hamas is using the gaza population, the civilian population as a human shield, and they are actually, when we were asking Gazan Civilians to vacate areas to save themselves, not to get caught up in the cross fire, hamas is demanding they stay, demanding they become martyrs for the cause. Putting up road blocks. Its what hamas thinks about the people of gaza, they want to sacrifice them all. The hamas leadership, an official told nbc news if you stop the bombing theyll release civilian hostages. Is that even on the table . On the contrary, they have to release the hostages unconditionally, thats what President Biden said, thats what whole International Community is saying, they must release the hostages immediately or unconditionally, in the meantime, there should be red cross visits to the hostages. These people are not bargaining chips. They deserve to be set free and that should be the command. Ambassador mark regev, thank you for coming on the show. We appreciate it. Appreciate you having me. Ohio congressman jim jordan lost again today when 22 House Republicans voted for someone else, which means the temporary speaker option looks like a real possibility. Joining us is nbc news capitol hill correspondent ali vitali, and Punchbowl News cofounder and msnbc contributor, jake sherman. Give us the current status at 3 28 and 52 seconds. Reporter the current status at 3 28, 55 at this point, is we dont know what republicans next move is. There was some talk they would go into a conference meeting, that meeting never seemed to have manifested, though i did hear talk of pizza, so not everything is a loss here. On democrats part, im standing outside the room where just in the last few minutes, they finished their meeting. My understanding, according to my sources that the point of the meeting for democrats was to take the temperature on that alternative that you were just talking about, that Congressman Ken Buck floated to you yesterday and has sort of been operating as the theory of the case here now that jordan has failed on the second ballot. The idea of Empowering The Speaker pro tem, that would be something that both republicans and democrats would likely pull together to do. Its not clear that we have reached the fever pitch for that to actually happen. When you talk to people and i asked hakeem jeffries, the top democrat here, if he would support empowering mchenry. He certainly left the door open to that, and hes very much aware that its an active conversation that democrats are open to. But he would not specifically say that he backs mchenry. To jeffreys and other key democrats ive spoken to, katy, they said it was a two pronged goal, the first to make it so jim jordan was not speaker. They feel good about achieving that goal. The second part of this was trying to get back to a place where the house could function, and thats the open ended question that all lawmakers are trying to answer right now. Democrats sounding the note they havent decided anything Behind Closed Doors but theyre ready for republicans to come to them with ideas. Jake, what are you hearing . Jim jordan, his paths are closing off to the extent he had one. Having 20 votes against you time and time again is not a way to win. He actually, according to paul cane of the washington post, he found a very interesting specific. This is the lowest vote today for a major Party Candidate for speaker in modern history. That is not a good statistic and not one you want to hang your hat on. So jordan, on this third ballot, is likely to lose votes again. How many will he lose . Unclear. Hes going to lose votes and the question is, jordans whole brand to the extent he has one is he likes winning and fighting. Hes going to keep trying to fight and keep trying to go to the floor according to the people we talked to. I just do not know what his world thinkings the pathway is here. I just dont get it. I think there is some skepticism on the idea of empowering mchenry. Some of the hard right see it as a Coalition Government, which they dont want to be involved in. That to be honest with you might be the only option at this point. As we have discussed for the last couple of days, it doesnt seem like theres anybody, in House Republican in congress hold on, hold on, hold on, you have laughed me out of the room, my friend, and now youre saying that we are headed in that direction, that we could see a unity government . Which by the way, i think the vast majority of this country would love to see. I dont think its a unity government. I think that democrats, as ali just mentioned, want to open the house again, and want to get to work. They see that supporting mchenry for a couple of months or whatever it might be, might be a way to open the house, and republicans have to figure out how to govern, how to keep the government open, pass aid for israel, potentially ukraine. So thats the extent of the Coalition Government that will exist. You can govern if you find something that the broad majority of the house can agree on, and i think you could possibly find something more easily with the modern democrats than you can with the extreme of the republican party. Thats a way to get things done. I know youre laughing at me, let me ask you about Something Else happening. Werythg going on in israel and gaza, and its now spilling over into the halls of capitol hill. What are you seeing with the protests that were looking at here . Thats exactly right. Stunning images as we see the cannon rotunda, really inundated with hundreds of protesters, Capitol Police bolstered their presence. They were expecting protests here on campus today, but we have certainly seen those folks come out in spades. Lawmakers have been passing pictures on their phones to each other, trying to keep everyone aware of what these protests look like. Our understanding, katy, and im sure you see the images on the screen right now. Our understanding is the arrests are still going on. They are still trying to clear this situation. It is another palpable reminder that the geopolitical landscape is one of such urgency right now, and this house is still in a state of affected paralysis. We showed you the violence in the west bank, anger fueled by the explosion at a gaza hospital. The idf and now the u. S. Government say the explosion was not from an israeli rocket. U. S. Intelligence saying it likely was not but the arab street is blaming israel, with angry protests again in jordan, yemen, turkey, tunisia, morocco, libya and lebanon. Joining us from Beirut Lebanon is nbc news Foreign Correspondent matt bradley. What did you see today . Reporter we ended the day at the u. S. Embassy where we saw right after the police and military seemed to clear up the protesters, they were putting the barricades blocking the road up to the u. S. Embassy back up. You could still smell the tear gas in the air, and it looked like and it was clear that the protesters actually set fire to one of the commercial buildings that was next to the road leading up to the embassy, and i got to tell you, they didnt make it within a kilometer of the embassy because theres so many guards between that road and the embassy, just based on the past, you know, threats that Embassy Personnel and the embassy themselves have faced in lebanon. The protesters never made it that close. We were at a hezbollah rally earlier in the day in southern beirut, and there was an enormous amount of anger, not just against israel but also against the United States. You know, the protesters there, they were mentioning the names israel and the United States in the same sentence, with the same tones. With the same condemnation. They were mentioning netanyahu and biden together. For these protesters, there was no daylight between netanyahu and biden, between israel and the United States. They see the United States as entirely complicit or identical as a force in The Middle East to israel, and you know, this is something that we saw this rage going on and on. It was about that Hospital Explosion from last night, but at the same time, you know, i spoke with some of those protesters, and of course just about all of them do not buy israels line, as you mentioned, that this was an errant bomb or rocket from a palestinian militant group. None of them are accepting that notion. When i asked them whether or not they would accept the idea if they had the evidence, they said, no, this is about anger that goes back generations against the United States and israel. Its not just about last night. The narrative is already out there. Try to clean it up, it doesnt maintain. Mat, thank you very much. And antisemitic flyers in orange county, california, a gun pointed at a propalestinian protester in pennsylvania. A fatal stabbing of a palestinian american child, a little boy in illinois. Vandalism at synagogues in New York City, the word nazi sprayed across the Palestinian Cultural Center for peace in boston. Tensions and anger are also rising here in the United States. And american officials are warning it could turn into more violence here at home. Joining us now is nbc news investigative correspondent, tom winter. When you sat down, you said youre worried from what youre hearing from officials . I think theres been a real sea change in the last 24, 48 hours, that laundry list of incidents we have seen across the country, one in particularly violent, the stabbing of a 6yearold boy 26 times by an individual now under arrest. When you look at the incidents and the rhetoric on the line and any sniff on the internet the last couple of days, you can tell that things have ratcheted up. Thats what officials are concerned about. Theyre concerned about the idea that somebody will listen to these calls, and to be clear, there are now specific calls from al qaeda groups, pro hamas groups, that are saying you need to do something at this point, and i think thats whats got Law Enforcement officials here so concerned about it while youre seeing such a visible presence. Any specific concerns for specific places . Is it more heightened in new york or in washington, d. C. , in city centers, in public transport, synagogues or smaller communities, what else can you tell us . Sure, so i think its really across the board. Obviously in various Police Departments across the country, theyre focused on security at synagogues, mosques and having this increased presence at houses of worship across the country. Thats definitely a thought, right, but the idea of this 2003, 2005, homeland, to show, you know, sort of massive plot involving people on all sorts of continents, thats kind of gone away. When you look at the successful Terrorist Attacks over the last decade or so, they have been individuals, either one person or two people that have just decided to read the propaganda and act out on their own. Very lucky for the most part that they havent been very good at figuring out how to do a lot, for the most part, a lot of damage. Im thinking of the times square, would be bomber. That person is not the person who had the suicide vest, not somebody who traditionally youre going to come across in the normal course of Law Enforcement work, running down threats and leads that they are absolutely doing at this point. I think right now, they want to make sure that people know specifically in New York City which has been historically one of the prime targets if not the prime target in the country, hey, we have everybody possible in uniform, we have people out and available to respond so any sort of scene, and at any major public gathering places, we want these people to know that were there and that if you try something youre going to be met with force. Tom winter, always good to know, even though it is certainly unsettling. Tom, thank you very much. And coming up next, we are going to go back to capitol hill. Joining us is former Senior Adviser to house speakers paul ryan and brendan boehner, Jonathan Buck is an msnbc political analyst. Good to have you in person finally. Jim jordan wanted to be Speaker Of The House. Jim jordan is somebody whos never passed a piece of legislation. The speaker is responsible for passing legislation. How could he even get 200 votes with a record like that . Jim jordan is very good at stopping things, and i think thats a lot of what the republican conference is for. In a lot of ways hes a better fit than kevin mccarthy, candidly more of a centrist than he lets on. There are enough people who glee with that, the Speaker Of The House should be interested in doing things, and thats why youre seeing these people blocking him right now, and i promise you, its 20, 22 people blocking him now, there are a lot more people in that conference are glad hes being blocked right now. Who wish they had the courage to bok him. He went after them and said if you dont vote for me, im going to release republicans on social media and get you primaried. Thats what theyre afraid of but theyre glad hes not getting it because they know he would not be an effective speaker and would put them in a lot of really bad positions. The other options is a Patrick Mchenry 30day speakership or maybe more, given a little bit more authority. Jim jordan was asked about this just a moment ago by nbc news. Let us listen to what he said. I think thats a call for the conference. If the conference wants that, then well see, but thats a conference decision. Im not particularly supportive of that, though. Im not quite sure who asked that. It could have been another network as they were chasing him. He walks very fast. So hes not particularly supportive of it. Would the conference be supportive of it . I think most people in the conference would be supportive of it. You are seeing people who voted for jordan on the floor say theyre ready to move to it. This is going to be difficult. This is very delicate. Youre going to have a lot of people, jordan allies, whats getting in the way of their guy going to be speaker. You have to come to the conclusion hes not going to get there. If you try to ram it through the house, jordans folks would try to sabotage that as theythat, t are no more votes today according to ali vitali who just dropped that reporting. There will be votes tomorrow, so are we likely going to see a jim jordan vote tomorrow, one more try, third times the charm maybe, or are we going to see the pushing forward of the more empowered pro tem . Really its up to jim jordan whether he wants to go through that again. At some point hes going to realize hes not going to become speaker and whether hes going to allow the house to do Something Else. We know jim jordan is a fighter though and he probably thinks that he can continue to intimidate people. Theres already reporting he started to do deals with moderates in new york, whatever he can do. Salt. Whatever he can do to get there. Hes not going to give up quickly, but it may become very obvious its not going to happen. Is there anybody in the conference that can actually lead this conference . I think Patrick Mchenry is the person who is most likely, has the respect. Hes always been very honest and direct and kind of understands where people are coming from. Theres no one person who can unify it. Thats why you have to have a Patrick Mchenry step in and fill this job that nobody wants right now. Do they win back the house in 2024 . This is certainly not helping the cause. If youre democrats right now, they dont have to do anything right now. This is an embarrassment for republicans and puts them in a great spot. The governments going to shut down in a few weeks if nothing happens, israel needs some money, theres a lot at stake here. Brendan buck, good to see you in person, thanks for coming in.
