What were beginning the hour with Breaking News. As Night Falls On Israel and gaza, after a day of evacuations, exchanges of fire, and diplomatic appeals, here is what is new this hour. 360,000 Idf Reservist Mobilizing for the next phase of the war against hamas. The New York Times reports ras time is to capture gaza city and, quote, destroy Secretary Of State Anthony Blinken says that egypts Border Crossing will be open to ing aid to gaza. And Israels Energy minister says that israel will renew Water Supplies to parts of Southern Gaza after talks between President Biden and israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. [sirens] thats also new today. The sirens sounding in tel aviv, sending visiting u. S. Senators, majority leader Chuck Schumer and republican senator mitt romney and to bomb shelters. Schumer says they were rushed to the shelter to wait out hamas rocket fire. Israel also reported taking rocket fire in the Southern City of sderot. Israeli strikes were unrelenting, pounding the gaza strip. There you have some new video showing an explosion during rescues following and then desperate searches for survivors following a strike on yet another refugee camp. Then in central gaza, watch this. [speaking in a global language] extraordinary dramatic rescues on a strike on a residential building. [sirens] those strikes sending hundreds to hospitals along the strip. The World Health Organization saying orders for hospitals to evacuate Northern Gaza are in Death Sentence for the second and jared. Doctors say conditions and gaza hospitals are already dire for patients. We have around 55 patients. They depend on machines to preserve their lives, they need oxygen. Theyre on ventilators. We have these machines, around 60 patients. This number is a danger. [inaudible] we need a cease fire, we need another hospital. And this disaster, they come from new countries. A new update on the 70 People Killed when three convoys evacuees in gaza were killed by strikes. And idf spokesman told our colleagues that sky news israel, sky news, rather, that israel did not strike the convoys. Adding that it appears hamas had the road booby trapped. We are going to follow up on that with a number of reporters and analysts in place across the middle east. Here in the u. S. , covering all of todays developments. First to rob sanchez that the israel border. I understand that you had a look at a huge cash of weapons today, what are you seen . Yeah, alex, thats. Right when Hamas Terrorists burst through the gaza border on saturday they were armed to the teeth. Armed not just a kill israeli civilians but also to fight off israeli reinforcements into the southern communities. To fight against tanks, helicopters, the Israeli Military has been gathering weapons. They have collected from slain hamas fighters. They have been collecting them at a basin southern israel. We visited that base earlier today. I want you to take a look at what we saw. This is just a fraction of the weapons the Israeli Military has recovered from hamas fighters and the field. I want to walk you through some of the items here. This is a thermobaric bomb. This is a weapon designed to create heat of up to 3000 degrees instantaneously. The Israeli Military says Hamas Terrorists use these two incinerate whole families inside of their houses. Now the bulk of these weapons down here are rocket propelled grenades. The Israeli Military says it found around 1000 of them in the field. This is a level of firepower designed not just for killing civilians, but for holding off israeli reinforcements for hours to come. These are assault rifles. The standard issue of hamas forces. You can see just an absolute arsenal of weapons. If my Camera Operator just points over here, these black charges are explosives. They were planted at the gates of israeli communities. They were designed as booby traps to stop israeli troops coming in. Critically, the Israeli Military says that nothing they see here suggest the direct involvement of iran. These are standard weapons you would expect from hamas, many of them are homemade, inside gaza. It gives you a sense of the firepower israels military will be facing inside the gaza one that Ground Nation begins. Now, alex, that is the kind of firepower that hamas forces will be deploying inside of gaza. They will be on home for a if israel moves ahead as we expect they will with a full on ground invasion. Not only are hamas fighters heavily armed inside of gaza, they also have that elaborate network of tunnels underneath the strip. It gives them the ability to pop up in different places to try to ambush Israeli Forces. So the Israeli Military is studying those weapons, trying to see what clues they can learn. I thought it was interesting that they said nothing and that arsenal indicates the direct involvement of iran. It shows you that even under that very, very severe israeli blockade that has been going on for years now, hamas is still finding material to reduce weapons inside of the gaza strip. Can i offer you a profound thank you . That was incredibly educational to see the firepower being captured, and that witchess Relief Sources will be facing. Now, matt bradley, who is following the latest on Secretary Blinkens tour of the middle east. Lebanon, thats where we are joined by matt. What are we hearing from him today, matt, during his latest stop . That was cairo, egypt. Anthony blinken, the Secretary Of State, hes not a six nation arab tour. Hes trying to tell arab governments that he is trying his best, to keep the israelis from committing heinous war crimes when they do their anticipated move into the gaza strip. This is something that we have been hearing for the past week. He goes back to tel aviv, itll be the second time hes doing that in the last five days. Today, he joins us for a close ally of the al United States. Heres what he had to say. We started, as you know, in israel. It was important to make it very clear that the United States has israels back. We will stand with them today, tomorrow, and every day. We are doing that inward and indeed. I spent time with president netanyahu to go through the needs that israels have to ensure they can effectively defend itself. Youve already seen a lot of that assistance moving forward. Thats a conversation that will continue. Now, Secretary Blinken, of course, like i, said is going on the store of all these arab countries, trying to assure them that theyre going to be, the dean estates is doing its best to tamp down israels appetite, possibly, for any human rights abuses. Youve heard the shift in the u. S. Change over the last week or even though they said that the u. S. Has been say that theyre entirely behind israel, they have been calling on israel to go to the gaza strip. What he heard from elsisi. He is among one of the only arab countries to push back a little bit on Secretary Blinken and to say that already the israelis had exceeded some of the retribution and the gaza strip. Some of what theyve seen in the gaza strip, and this is before the mass crowded nation that werent dissipating, its already tantamount to Something Like collective punishment. The egyptians are unique among the arab world. They share a border with the gaza strip. Im sorry it looks like war, the lets attorney. Not were having a Rolling Blackouts now and lebanon, alex. I can tell you that this is something that elsisi has pushed back on Secretary Blinken, saying that this is the book collective punishment. Theyve exceeded the retribution but they were trying to beat up in the gaza strip. This is before we had this ground invasion. Again, the egyptian share aboard with the gaza strip. This makes them unique among arab countries. A lot of these arab countries, they are concerned not just for the human rights and human values, and the wellbeing of palestinians in the gaza strip, there are also really worried about their own populations becoming angry and rising up in support of the palestinians, and rising up against the regimes, these Airbridge Eames that have typically not been particularly democratic. All, right listen, we understand the lighting, there are issues that happened when youre an alive war zone in your covering. Thank you so much for that. You did mention Secretary Blinken, of, course we want to have james, our director, put up a photo. We are just seeing him, i believe, right there. There he is, deplaning. He has landed in amman, jordan. That will be the next series of interviews that he will be conducting. Again, to matts, point trying to bring reassurances to allies in the middle east of the United States. That nobody wants to pursue an allout extended war with multinational prongs to it. Again, were going to keep an eye on that. A little bit of darkness there with the secretary of State Landing in jordan. Joining us now, the former supremely of nato and chief international analyst. Admiral, admirable as well. Welcome, sir. According to axios, iran sent to messaged israel on saturday stg th it does not want further escalation and the hamas israel war. Th it will, quote, intervene if the israeli operation in gaza continues. So what could intervene mean . Talk to me about what it would look like if iran were to get involved. Either directly or indirectly, and this conflict. Iran really doesnt have a lot of significant levers to pull with one exception, alex. That, of course, is hezbollah. This creature of iran, terrorist organization. One of the most effective Terrorist Organizations in the world. It is more than israel, and lebanon, it is in possession of 130,000 service to surface missiles. So what iran could do, and what theyre subliminally threatening to do, is unleash hezbollah. That would be a mistake on the part of iran. That is the reason there is not one but two american Aircraft Carriers off the coast, not of israel, but of lebanon. Those carriers are there directly to send a signal to tehran that the United States does not want to get involved militarily and this, but if a Northern Front is opened, if hezbollah launches missiles, look for american fighter jets to come in and take those missiles out. I dont think iran has a significant hand of cards to play. Particularly now that the administration has moved American Military power close by. You interpretation, sir, of that which we heard from matt bradley, talking about some pushback from the egyptian president when talking about the war. The involvement, the greater picture. How do you read that . I think that hes playing to his population. Egypts the largest arab nation in the world. President sissi is clearly signaling to his population that he will do what he can to try to protect the palestinians. On the other hands, when he says that the ex president sissi, like the israelis have already overstepped on retribution. I think hes missing an important point. But the israelis are doing is really not about retribution. Its about prevention. Its about the light of selfdefense, which is quite clear under International Law to prevent hamas from conducting further attacks along the lines of a week ago. That is not retribution. That is prevention and selfdefense. Its an important distinction. In terms of next up, sir, here is what, on that level, the New York Times reports that israeleparing to soon invade with Tens Of Thsas of soldiers with the goal of capturing gaza city, firstly, and then wiping out hamas top leadership. Can you explain the risks, challenges, of a massive Ground Offensive in a very densely populated urban area . Particularly the challenges up the miles and miles of underground tunnels. Hamas militants will likely be hiding there. I want to know how those tunnels work. How the israeli army, have they ever undertaken the scale of combat in this region . The answer to your final question is no. They have never been in a position to set up, to bring several hundred thousand troops into a city of 1. 2 million and face the enormous challenges of urban warfare. You cant maneuver your tanks. If you were mindful of civilian casualties the way the israelis are, you dont have a free hand to go and flatten the entire place. Obviously israel has the military capacity to simply destroy gaza. Theyre not going to do that because that would be a violation of International Law, and would not to regard the civilians who remain there. As the offensive for us, theyre at an extreme disadvantage, attempting to avoid civilian casualties, your opponents are in buildings vertically stacked above you, shooting down on you. Alex, your point, underneath your fairy feats are 300 miles of tunnels which allow your opponents to drop down, maneuver, and pop up wherever they would like. This is an immense military challenge. The u. S. Has fought in some urban settings, as recently as the iraq wars, and what we know is that this is going to be extremely difficult militarily. Compounded by the presence of hostages, and innocent civilians in hospitals, as your reporting is quite correctly showing. This is not a ten in terms of difficulty, this is a 22. Ive never seen a harder challenge for military. As you are well aware, sir the airstrikes continue from israel, but i guess strategically my question is can they continue . During a ground assault. Can the to Work Together . They can, given the precise targeting capabilities of the israeli air force. You are right, when the israeli troops get into discrete areas, then that will become a nofly zone, if you will. Again, compounding the challenges here. One point to be made is that is commandoes will come in from the sea and put pressure on the rear of hamas as they face the israeli takes coming across. All of that, youre absolutely correct, there will be a period where air support is reduced because of all of this. Extremely complex military maneuvering. I said admirable, and im at. That admiral, thank you, sir. In a moment, well hear from an american citizen whos five Family Members are being held hostage by hamas. First, there is something new from the president today. He answers a very pointed question about war when were back in 60 seconds. Ck in 60 seconds your best defense against erosion and cavities is strong enamel nothing beats it. New pronamel active shield actively shields the enamel to defend against erosion and cavities. I think that this product is a gamechanger for my patients it really works. When Migraine Strikes are the tradeoffs of treating worth it . Ubrelvy is another option, it quickly eliminates migraine pain. Do not take with strong cyp3a4 inhibitors. Allergic reactions to ubrelvy can happen. Most common side effects were nausea and sleepiness. Ask about ubrelvy. 18 past. Breaking news out of the white house. A new reaction from President Biden today as his administration juggles the escalating israel hamas conflict, and the ongoing war in ukraine. Nbcs allie raffa is at the white house for us. Ali, whats the president saying about these two ongoing, simultaneous conflicts . Yeah, alex, what weve heard from white house officials in the last weeks since this first started, just how the u. S. Is going to be able to juggle, potentially, both ukraine and israel aid. Earlier we heard secretary of defense, lloyd austin, say that the u. S. Will be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. To be able to continue providing military and humanitarian aid to ukraine while also helping our oldest and closest ally in the middle east, in israel. The president was asked directly this. We have a new cliff of his interview with 60 minutes that is set to air tonight. Hear what he said directly asked about this. Are the wars in israel and ukraine more than the United States can take on . Where the United States of america, for god sake. The most powerful nation in the history, in the history of the world. The history of the world. We can take care of both of these and still montaigne are Overall International defense. We have the capacity to do this. We have an obligation to do. It we are and essential nation. If we dont, who does . Alex, we expect that support for both countries to be reflected in this next supplemental aid package that the white house has set to deliver to the hill, to consider, very soon, and we have reported that we expect israel aid to be linked to not just ukraine but also to taiwan, as well as more funding for the u. S. Mexico border. The big question now is whether thats all going to be able to pass as one, and how long thats going to take considering we know that the house is essentially paralyzed and not able to do anything without a speaker of the house. We have a looming Government Shutdown around 30 days. We have engagement between the white house in capitol hill, it has happened. It will continue to happen on friday. We have seen white house officials meet with top house lawmakers from both appropriations and foreign relations. Really, only time will tell how what, the plan is, for this impact, and how that will flush out. Im going to be asking a lot of questions about this very topic when a member of the house foreign differences coming up. In the meantime, thanks. The anguish in the waiting. Right now, you are looking at live pictures, this is out of gaza. It is now under siege by israel. Its been hammered by airstrikes as the u. S. And israel demand hamas released the 126 confirmed hostages that were taken one week ago. Also some harrowing videos emerging of the kidnappings. Like this, a 12 year old boy whose family has been taken hostage by hamas militants. It happened last saturday. This is near oz coats. This video was provided to us by the boys uncle. It has been edited and blurred, but nonetheless, terrifying. Our next guest had five of her Family Members ranging in age from 12 to 80 taking hostage from that same kibbutz one week ago. Joining me now is abby. As i welcome you, i can only imagine the agony you are experiencing right now. Its gotta be extraordinary, difficult, to try to relive. Can you share that with us about what happened to your family . Thank you for having me. That was actually my cousin son that you showed in the video. They live in we are a big family. That is the nearest cars to the border. When hamas infiltrated the southern border they went directly there. They looted and burned the kibbutz. We got Text Messages from our family that they could hear them in the house. They were in their bomb shelters. They could hear gunfire. They could hear their neighbors being killed. The last messages that weve got more to say goodbye. That they loved each other. For them, this was a holocaust. There is no nir oz anymore. Many of the people who live there were either killed or abducted. The people who survive this are survivors in the way that we talk about holocaust survivors. They survived unimaginable trump. When youre getting these Text Messages saying goodbye, i cant even begin to imagine what that is like for you. What kind of a gut punch, and how helpless do you feel being in tel aviv . You are an hour and a half north. You are seen the videos of the footage of thousands of Terrorist Taking over the Gaza Envelope next to where theyre coming from. You cant process in realtime whats happening. I dont think collectively, as a family, a nation, of jewish people, that we are close to process a net. We are focused on action. We are focused on sharing our story and meeting with as many governmental leaders as we can. My 80 world cousin is an american citizen. She has dementia. She has a heart problem. Without medicine, she will not survive. We are doing everything we can to put pressure to ensure that the hostages are released immediately. We believe that all civilians should have age, and should be able to live. That this war should not be built on the backs of children in elderly. That is whats happening to my family, and so many of our families. Abby, you have not heard from any of these five beloved Family Members that were taken from you. Have you heard anything, any word at all about the details of where they may be, if they know whether they are dead or alive. Anyone from the Israeli Government or hamas . We have the video. It was uploaded by hamas a week ago today. Which is, on one hand, disturb rain. On the other hand, we choose to believe that its encouraging that he is alive. We have confirmation on two of the five that are confirmed kidnapped by the government. Beyond that, we do not have any information. I can tell you as an american that the American Government has been nothing but coordinated, humane, empathetic. As families of people who have hostages that are american citizens, we have met with the Secretary Of State, we have met with the president s. We just had the opportunity now to meet with Senator Schumer and his delegation. They are listening to us. I hope thats beyond hope, we are moving into action. I have no doubt that you are. Let me ask you specifically about the conversation that you had, as you call, untold, with President Biden. It happened on friday. You were among those families, the americans, who have kidnapped relatives by hamas. What happened on that call . What did you tell the president about the u. S. Efforts to help . I told him that we believe that the number one issue right now are the hostages. That for the morale of our families, our country, and indeed, the world, they need to be returned. But this is not an issue of palestine and israel, its an issue of terror. America stands up to terror. Theyre israels greatest partner and they believe that they have the will and the ability to do that. Beyond that, strategy, its beyond our pay grade to tell their stories and i get to speak the names of my family. Ive got to tell him about carmella, who is our matriarch. About what she is facing. About an oil who is special needs. I got to speak those words, for him to hear, for him to have in his mouth and mind as he makes his next moves. When someone on his staff encouraged him to take the call. He stayed. He said, if im not mistaken, im your boss, summer commander and chief of the military, president of the United States. Im not going anywhere. He stated listened every one of us. That sounds like President Biden. He has an incredibly paddock heart and soul. Let me ask you, is there something you would like the Israeli Government and now as they embark on efforts to try to release the hostages . That said this will be the one thing that can be done to raise arm around, to help our citizens, our families. We are in a fight right now for our life. Not just israelis, but jews. In order to keep fighting, in order to make sure that were eradicating terror, that this is our only focus, we need to get the hostages home, and now. I have one more question for you. You mentioned the horrific reality of the 90 minutes away from your loved ones, as you are being taken from that kibbutz. You are there in tel aviv. Do you feel safe . As an american, how you consider leaving israel amid the unrest . I feel as safe as they possibly can. We have a bomb shelter in our bill dane. We are not considering anything until we finish this fight. Happy, an american living in tel aviv. Warning the abduction of five precious loved ones. Thank you so much, well be thinking if. You best of luck. My next guest got a chance to Say Something to President Biden on a tarmac about the israelhamas war. Going to ask her what she said. G to ask her what she said unnecessary action hero unnecessary. Was that necessary . No. Neither is a blown weekend. This hour. Senators Chuck Schumer say he and a group of u. S. Senators were rushed into a bomb shelter in tel aviv amid rocket fire. Schumer is leading a group of senators, including mitt romney, you can see right there from this photo he posted on twitter, or x. Theyre meeting with israeli leaders and nbcs reporter spoke to the senator shortly after that episode. Senator schumer, when you got off the plane, what was the first thing you wanted to tell israel leaders. I wanted to tell them we have your back during these awful times. Which one of the worst Terrorist Incidents that we have ever seen. We wanted the israeli people to know that america stands with them. We understand their pain, we understand there need, to make sure that they eliminate the threat of hamas once and for all. Lets start now. You arrive in the country, and then you have to go to a shelter . We had several medians, and then we had a meeting at this hotel. The alarms were off, then we rushed into a room that was secure. We took shelter. What was your we want to tell them that were with. Them were with them. Were also fighting for freedom throughout the world. There was a war against democracy going on. Joining me now is democratic congresswoman Madeleine Dean of pennsylvania. She sits on the House Foreign Affairs committee. Shes a perfect asked for this question. Thank you so much. You and more than 50 other lawmakers signed a letter to President Biden and Secretary Of State blinken on friday regarding concerns over the israelhamas war. So what are you asking them to do . Good to be with, you alex. This is a really precarious time. I signed that letter and other members of congress, lifting up the issue of humanitarian age and protections for innocent civilians in gaza and israel. So i was happy to sign on to that letter. Id also signed on prior to that to enjoy resolution that chairman nicole and Ranking Member of the Foreign Affairs committee had put forward, lifting up, of course, our continued support for israel standing by her side for right to defend herself, and to secure her lands. Then i had a chance on friday to visit with the president on the tarmac at andrews. I wanted to discuss just a couple of quick things as he was headed off to philadelphia. I wanted to say, number, one i stand with, you mister president. The moral clarity that you are showing, the support for israel. Please, our number one task cosby to get the hostages out. To get them safely out and home. Number two, as we do, that we must implore israel, and the world, to make safe zones, safe corridors, for the innocent civilians in gaza. We must not see a slaughter of innocent civilians. The size of gaza, just for those who dont really know, white or havent visited it, its literally the same square miles as my dear city of philadelphia. Except it has 2. 2 Million People living there. Many and poverty. High proportion of children. They must be protected in safe zones. The u. N. Is already there and some smaller capacities. We must ensure that this opens the gate at profit to allow citizens out, to protect innocent lives as we expect a ground war by putting forward to defeat hamas by israel. There must be humanitarian aid and safe zones. I was proud of the administration for persuading mr. Netanyahu to turn this in Southern Gaza. Well have an update oth just a moment. Im guessing t president was quite in agreement with you. No pushback at all on trying to rescue hostages and provide the safe zones. Was there any discussion with him about the difficulties doing either . No. We did not go into the granular about the difficulty. I just wanted to make sure that on behalf of my constituents, a tremendous number who are jewish americans, palestinian americans, that we and the United States have a real clarity about protecting innocent lives. Of course, getting our hostages home. Even as we stand 100 with israel against these barbaric attacks. The president was so himself, you know. He had just gotten off the zoom with these families, those who are believed to have been held hostage. Their Family Members, he was so compassionate, so committed, so resolute. You may have heard one of my recent guests who said that his handlers, if you, what were trying to get him off. He said, not going to do anything about. He was going to listen everything they had to. Say thats the kind of commanderinchief we have. Let me ask you about Secretary Blinken, who you know us Diplomat Wrapping up his diplomatic tour the middle east. He met with egyptian president today, as well as the Saudi Crown Prince like yesterday. He is heading back to israel to be Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on monday. He has made a stop in amman, jordan today. We saw his leg in a short while ago. Hes doing this in part to keep this from becoming a regional conflicts. What is it going to take to stop this war from spreading across borders . Well, i have to tell you, if you are watching Secretary Blinken as i, am i couldnt be prouder. My oh my z the right man for the moment. What you have seen the United States do is bring in one group, and then sec digging in a second. Gerald ford is there, eisenhower is on its way. Mr. Blinken is working with all of the leaders in the area to deter and to make sure that this is contained. Obviously if this becomes a war on multiple fronts, more and more lives will be lost. It will become an even greater catastrophe than it already is. This is almost hard to imagine. I said mr. Blinken is the right man at the right time. His own Family History has instructed him this entire life about the precarious nature, and the attacks on the jewish people overtime. For generations and generations. His own stepfather was a survivor of the holocaust. So he has the right intellect, right compassion, the right sense of history, and has that moral compass that we must continue to press upon anyone who is in this combat. Here in the United States youve seen, at the rallies by both palestinians and members of the Jewish Community over whats happening in israel and gaza. As a u. S. Leader, what can we do to reconcile any divisions will also acknowledging that there are concerns on both sides . Well, what we can do, what we must do is be sure that we are possessed with the desire for peace. I have been to israel twice. Each time, one time i had the chance to speak with Prime Minister netanyahu and said to him, what is your responsibility for developing peace throughout two State Solution . We as leaders, and a civilians, as those who protest, must demand a two State Solution. Must left out the palestinian people, and what they have suffered, and now, are suffering even more. We do that right alongside lifting up the jews, israelis, anyone who has also been sought out and persecuted. We have to rise above. We have to guide both sides towards a peaceful resolution. I realize now, in the meantime, hamas must be destroyed. They are a terrorist group. They are not your ordinary gauze and civilians. They are not ordinary palestinians. They are a terrorist group. They must be dealt with. At the same time, we have to have our eyes on the protection of innocent life and peace. Democratic congressman, Madeleine Dean, nice to see you. Thank you for your words of influence. Coming up next, the sobering challenges of urban warfare, and how soon they might be a reality in gaza. Some breaking word on the water supply there. Well be back after the break. E break. [alarm] instructor veer right. [ringing] instructor and slow down. Tech so when he got a cracked windshield, he turned to safelite. We have learned that israel is saying that it will resume supplying water to Southern Gaza. Of course, the need there has reached a critical level. The specific news comes after President Biden spoke to israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Were going to bring you the very latest one if they can verify that that Water Resupply has begun. In the meantime, joining me now from fbi Special Agent and Msnbc National Security analyst, clint watts. Welcome. We know that the New York Times reports that an invasion, rather, of gaza, is a minute. The goal of capturing gaza city, and eliminating hamas leadership is a pretty have to, colbert them. One of the Biggest Challenges and risks and the expected urban warfare, and how do you see this playing out . The first challenge, alex, has already happened. Thats what you were discussing earlier this morning. Its the idea of getting the civilians out. Where theyre going to . So they have put the order out over the last two days that the civilians need to go to the south. I think the second thing is, and there are some updates that are coming out that the humanitarian corridor down to the south will be open to egypt. That is critical for getting people to safety. That was the first part of the military operation. This supported civilians from the military armies of hamas. Now youre seeing is probably, on the Israeli Defense side, it is further reconnaissance to understand two things. One, if the hostages can be located, where are they . How might they be handled . The second part, where should the Israeli Defense forces move in when they reach the wars of gaza . That is the force is underway right now. Its a short time before well offensive begins. Can i speak about the rafah gate with you . While we have leadership say were going to open, this were going to allow for humanitarian passing through that gate into egypt, i was speaking with my correspondent raf sanchez earlier who said that cant be confirmed. What would the holdup be . If its there, and ready to be opened, and leadership has said lets do this, why is it not working . Alex, i think hamas gets, we shouldnt underestimate that hamas is the Governing Body of the gaza strip at this point. They likely have personal all the way down because they also need supplies. There will be questions about what the right approaches. Im sure that egypt, the u. S. , and most of the folks on the Southern Side will try to get it open. Then comes a question of who is a noncombatant, whos a combatant. This aid is being delivered into gaza strip, is that going to actually relate to humanitarian efforts inside gaza, or it is a b let into hamas. It is more complicated inside than it is outside. I imagine thats what the dispute is about at this point. Speaking about complicated, the Ground Offensive means that Israeli Forces are going to be ding but those smiles that sophisticated tunnels that arga, where hamas plans and launches its operations. Ho much intel does israel have on the tunnels . W eensive are there . Because you know that the idf says that they are likely to be booby trapped with explosives. Im curious, have you figured out the challenges for the Israeli Military fighting inside these tunnels . Up until recently, alex, this is really tough. Its almost nearly impossible to get digital signatures. To gain intelligence about people going down into those tunnels, or maybe going through people you capture at some point. By and large, youre just not going to know what theyre going into. These are the tunnels that were showing there that are going under the Gaza Border Gate into israel. The ones that are probably more concerning for the idf or the headquarters. You might remember back 20 years ago to a place called bora bora where there was a key location for bin laden. One of the challenges was the subterranean networks. How did they go about, you know, dealing with those networks . How do they illuminate the threat . Israel has a much tougher challenge. Theyre not just looking at tunnels, they dont know where the tunnels are at. There is infrastructure and structures built on top of those as well. I want to squeeze in one more question, its important. Todays clashes intensify between israel and hezbollah. In israels northern border with lebanon. This is after has beloved issued missiles. This is an israeli town. The question to u. S. , the prospects of and enlarged war on this front, what kind of chill says that send down your spine . What you think the likelihood of that . This is the its bills into a multi front. Walter front war that is backed by one nationstate, iran. For viewers, a reminder, or ron supports both hamas and hezbollah. Theyre really the key agent of the, they can maneuver these locations, both in the north and south. They can push and pull different forces. There are also lined with syria. So when you look at, to israel could be surrounded very quickly on three sides. I am a little bit skeptical that iran would want to pull that trigger, or could pull that trigger. Theyve been slow to respond on. This it seems as if hamas may have got a rotten surprise to some degree. A degree of the attack, and what they intended to do sense. And then the question will be with hezbollah, itll be much more conventional. It will be different from what we had seen with gaza. It could also be quite devastating in the sense that sophistication of hezbollah workers will reach many of the major cities right away. All right, always much appreciated. Thank you.
