There you have some new video showing an explosion during rescues following and then desperate searches for survivors following a strike on yet another refugee camp. Then in central gaza, watch this. The World Health Organization saying orders for hospitals to evacuate Northern Gaza are in Death Sentence for the second and jared. Doctors say conditions and gaza hospitals are already dire for patients. We have around 55 patients. They depend on machines to preserve their lives, they need oxygen. Theyre on ventilators. We have these machines, around 60 patients. This number is a danger. [inaudible] we need a cease fire, we need another hospital. And this disaster, they come from new countries. A new update on the 70 People Killed when three convoys evacuees in gaza were killed by strikes. And idf spokesman told our colleagues that sky news israel, sky news, rather, that israel did not strike the convoys. Adding that it appears hamas had the road booby trapped. We are going to follow up on that with a number of reporters and analysts in place across the middle east. Here in the u. S. , covering all of todays developments. Right when Hamas Terrorists burst through the gaza border on saturday they were armed to the teeth. To fight against tanks, helicopters, the Israeli Military has been gathering weapons. They have collected from slain hamas fighters. They have been collecting them at a basin southern israel. It gives them the ability to pop up in different places to try to ambush Israeli Forces. So the Israeli Military is studying those weapons, trying to see what clues they can learn. I thought it was interesting that they said nothing and that arsenal indicates the direct involvement of iran. It shows you that even under that very, very severe israeli blockade that has been going on for years now, hamas is still finding material to reduce weapons inside of the gaza strip. It is more than israel, and lebanon, it is in possession of 130,000 service to surface missiles. So what iran could do, and what theyre subliminally threatening to do, is unleash hezbollah. That would be a mistake on the part of iran. That is the reason there is not one but two american Aircraft Carriers off the coast, not of israel, but of lebanon. Those carriers are there directly to send a signal to tehran that the United States does not want to get involved militarily and this, but if a Northern Front is opened, if hezbollah launches missiles, look for american fighter jets to come in and take those missiles out. How do you read that . I think that hes playing to his population. Egypts the largest arab nation in the world. President sissi is clearly signaling to his population that he will do what he can to try to protect the palestinians. On the other hands, when he says that the ex president sissi, like the israelis have already overstepped on retribution. I think hes missing an important point. But the israelis are doing is really not about retribution. Its about prevention. Its about the light of selfdefense, which is quite clear under International Law to prevent hamas from conducting further attacks along the lines of a week ago. That is not retribution. That is prevention and selfdefense. Its an important distinction. In terms of next up, sir, here is what, on that level, the New York Times reports that israeleparing to soon invade with Tens Of Thsas of soldiers with the goal of capturing gaza city, firstly, and then wiping out hamas top leadership. Can you explain the risks, challenges, of a massive Ground Offensive in a very densely populated urban area . Particularly the challenges up the miles and miles of underground tunnels. Hamas militants will likely be hiding there. I want to know how those tunnels work. How the israeli army, have they ever undertaken the scale of combat in this region . The answer to your final question is no. They have never been in a position to set up, to bring several hundred thousand troops into a city of 1. 2 million and face the enormous challenges of urban warfare. You cant maneuver your tanks. If you were mindful of civilian casualties the way the israelis are, you dont have a free hand to go and flatten the entire place. Obviously israel has the military capacity to simply destroy gaza. Theyre not going to do that because that would be a violation of International Law, and would not to regard the civilians who remain there. As the offensive for us, theyre at an extreme disadvantage, attempting to avoid civilian casualties, your opponents are in buildings vertically stacked above you, shooting down on you. Alex, your point, underneath your fairy feats are 300 miles of tunnels which allow your opponents to drop down, maneuver, and pop up wherever they would like. This is an immense military challenge. The u. S. Has fought in some urban settings, as recently as the iraq wars, and what we know is that this is going to be extremely difficult militarily. What is it going to take to stop this war from spreading across borders . Well, i have to tell you, if you are watching Secretary Blinken as i, am i couldnt be prouder. My oh my z the right man for the moment. What you have seen the United States do is bring in one group, and then sec digging in a second. Gerald ford is there, eisenhower is on its way. Mr. Blinken is working with all of the leaders in the area to deter and to make sure that this is contained. Obviously if this becomes a war on multiple fronts, more and more lives will be lost. It will become an even greater catastrophe than it already is. This is almost hard to imagine. I said mr. Blinken is the right man at the right time. His own Family History has instructed him this entire life about the precarious nature, and the attacks on the jewish people overtime. For generations and generations. His own stepfather was a survivor of the holocaust. So he has the right intellect, right compassion, the right sense of history, and has that moral compass that we must continue to press upon anyone who is in this combat. Here in the United States youve seen, at the rallies by both palestinians and members of the Jewish Community over whats happening in israel and gaza. As a u. S. Leader, what can we do to reconcile any divisions will also acknowledging that there are concerns on both sides . I think the second thing is, and there are some updates that are coming out that the humanitarian corridor down to the south will be open to egypt. That is critical for getting people to safety. Now youre seeing is probably, on the Israeli Defense side, it is further reconnaissance to understand two things. One, if the hostages can be located, where are they . How might they be handled . The second part, where should the Israeli Defense forces move in when they reach the wars of gaza . That is the force is underway right now. Its a short time before well offensive begins. Can i speak about the rafah gate with you . While we have leadership say were going to open, this were going to allow for humanitarian passing through that gate into egypt, i was speaking with my correspondent raf sanchez earlier who said that cant be confirmed. What would the holdup be . If its there, and ready to be opened, and leadership has said lets do this, why is it not working . Alex, i think hamas gets, we shouldnt underestimate that hamas is the Governing Body of the gaza strip at this point. They likely have personal all the way down because they also need supplies. There will be questions about what the right approaches. Im sure that egypt, the u. S. , and most of the folks on the Southern Side will try to get it open. Then comes a question of who is a noncombatant, whos a combatant. This aid is being delivered into gaza strip, is that going to actually relate to humanitarian efforts inside gaza, or it is a b let into hamas. It is more complicated inside than it is outside. I imagine thats what the dispute is about at this point. Speaking about complicated, the Ground Offensive means that Israeli Forces are going to be ding but those smiles that sophisticated tunnels that arga, where hamas plans and launches its operations. Ho much intel does israel have on the tunnels . W eensive are there . Because you know that the idf says that they are likely to be booby trapped with explosives. Im curious, have you figured out the challenges for the Israeli Military fighting inside these tunnels . Up until recently, alex, this is really tough. Its almost nearly impossible to get digital signatures. To gain intelligence about people going down into those tunnels, or maybe going through people you capture at some point. By and large, youre just not going to know what theyre going into. These are the tunnels that were showing there that are going under the Gaza Border Gate into israel. The ones that are probably more concerning for the idf or the headquarters. You might remember back 20 years ago to a place called bora bora where there was a key location for bin laden. One of the challenges was the subterranean networks. How did they go about, you know, dealing with those networks . How do they illuminate the threat . Israel has a much tougher challenge. Theyre not just looking at tunnels, they dont know where the tunnels are at. There is infrastructure and structures built on top of those as well. I want to squeeze in one more question, its important. Todays clashes intensify between israel and hezbollah. In israels northern border with lebanon. This is after has beloved issued missiles. This is an israeli town. The question to u. S. , the prospects of and enlarged war on this front, what kind of chill says that send down your spine . What you think the likelihood of that .
