Northern gaza to evacuate south. That means more than 1 Million People have been asked to leave their homes before Israeli Forces start hunting down hamas militants and attempt to rescue hostages in gaza. The idf announced today it would establish a second route to help gazans flee to southern gaza. Hamas Officials Say israeli airstrikes killed 70 people, friday, as they tried to leave gaza city. Those killed were mostly women and children. This mad dash comes as the u. S. Workecure a Safe Border Exit for american citizens trapped in gaza. The United States, israel, and egypt, reaching an agreement to allow citizens to cross to egypt via the rafah crossing. The window for that has come and gone. It is unclear, at this time, whether any americans were able to cross. Meantime, nbc news exclusively obtaining documents that show hamas militants intentionally planned to target children. These documents were top secret, in arabic, highlighting plans for two highly trained hamas units to surround and attack several israeli villages. Nbc news has confirmed the documents were found on hamas detailed plans that showed hamas plan to kill Intake Hostage civilian schoolchildren. You are looking at aftermath of one of the detailed attacks. This area was one of the most deadly against the terror on. How hamas fighters should target each village to, quote, kill as many people as possible. Obviously, details very disturbing to hear. We are going to speak to a member of the nbc Investigation Unit who broke that story in just a few minutes. First, we want to start live in jerusalem with nbc news correspondent Kelly Cobiella, what is the status of knows theyre in as forces prepare for a Ground Invasion . Well, those israeli airstrikes have continued throughout the overnight and into today in northern gaza. Just east of gaza city and also in the south where people were told to evacuate to safety. People are still fleeing northern gaza. They are going by anyway they can. It is a difficult journey, not only because, frankly, because of the bombardments but also because of the blockade that has been in place now for about a week. There are very limited supplies of fuel. Fuel is running out. People simply cannot feel their cars to get south. There are not enough taxes to get south. Some people are not even aware of this window of safe passage that the Israeli Government announced earlier today. They said that between the hours of ten and four in the afternoon there would be too safe passage routes from the north, down to the south. This coming after a convoy of evacuees was hit by an israeli airstrike late yesterday. 70 people killed, many of them women and children. People are still trying to get out. It is increasingly dangerous, especially as we get to the evening hours now. There is a another emergency quickly developing on the ground in gaza, as well, right now. That is the lack of drinking water. The United Nations has said that lives are at stake now. The taps not running anymore because of the lack of fuel the Water Systems are not working. The Water Treatment but the systems used to move the water through the pipes. People are starting to drink contaminated water from wells. That could lead to, yet another, disaster of waterborne diseases. Really, disaster upon disaster for the people inside of gaza trying to get out. Lindsey . Where do things stand, kelly, at this hour regarding the rafah Border Crossing between palestine and egypt . As far as we understand, lindsey, there has been no sign, whatsoever, that crossing opened at all today. There was a tentative agreement announced by the u. S. That it would open for a short period of time. Families were given notices by the State Department to get closer to that crossing. It may only open for a short period of time. In fact, nbc news has been speaking to people there. They told us that there are hundreds of people waiting. As many as 600 waiting close to that crossing. There is just no sign of either sign being staffed or of it opening up. Still a very difficult situation for people in the south. We should also mention, a lot of the people left their homes, left shelter, they are now looking for a place to stay undercover or are having to sleep out in the open. Lindsey . Nbc news it is Kelly Cobiella in jerusalem. Thank you to you and your crew for bringing the very latest from the ground. Joining us now from lebanon, nbc news foreign correspondent, matt bradley. Matt, what is the latest on the ground there . How can what unfolds where you are wide in the scope of this conflict . Lindsey, we have been hearing from the idea, the Israeli Defense forces, that the dominant Paramilitary Group here in Southern Lebanon have fired as many as 30 or more to rounds over the border, just over that ridge line back there, into israel. We went down there yesterday. That is where a reuters journalist was killed and six other journalists were injured from firing coming from the israeli side. The Associated Press and al jazeera said that that firing with by the israelis. The reuters has not confirmed that. They are launching an investigation. Clearly, what we are seeing is this border behind me is heating up. This is nothing compared to what is going on where my colleague, Kelly Cobiella, is. My other colleagues near the border inside the gaza strip. Inside of israel. We have been seeing thousands of death. Here we are still seeing an increase in the tempo and the ferocity of the violence. Now, one week into this way, the question from everyone here is whether or not hezbollah will join in on the fighting. That is something everyone is looking at. If they do, it will broaden the conflict. It will bring in one other full nation. It will internationalize it. When i say a militant group, hezbollah, really bears more of a resemblance to a foreign official military than it does some kind of militant group, like hamas. Even though hezbollah is similar to hamas. The religious fundamentalist group backed by iran. Like hamas, it has, historically, been able to sustain long term engagement against israel that has pushed israel into retaliating in a muscular fashion. This is a major threat. One that a lot of people in the region, not just in israel, but here in lebanon, are very much dreading. If hezbollah were to weigh in, i dont know what would cause that, but it would internationalize the conflict, like i said. We do not know what hezbollah sees its role as here. Weve been speaking with analysts and people close to the group. People who are members of the group. A Member Of Parliament who had spoke to yesterday, for hezbollah, said in very strident language that hezbollah is ready to fight. They are not afraid of israel. They are not afraid of the American Naval assets part of the coast here in the Eastern Mediterranean city. It is unclear whether that is just bravado or whether or not hezbollah is really prepared to go into battle. Remember, if thats below does go into this fight, they will be able to bring to bear weapons, training, political trip ability, and connections internationally that would dwarf those of hamas. Hezbollah has ministers and government. They have Freedom Of Movement within lebanon. They have, basically, control of reports in airports. They are able to bring in weapons. They are not hemmed in by a 16 yang blockade like hamas is in the gaza strip. Theyve been fighting for the better part of the past decade in Neighboring Syria against Sunni Islamic group. They are, what Military Technicians would call, bloodied. They are experienced and battle. That means they would be increasing the ferocity of this phase. Splitting the israeli ranks. And internationalizing the conflict as i have said, in a way that no one here wants to see, including the people of lebanon. Lindsey . Matt bradley, thank you to you and your crew for monitoring that situation there. This morning, the u. S. State Department Revised its Travel Advisory to israel, the west bank, and gaza. Joining me now on that is nbc News White House correspondent, allie raffa. Allie, what is new about the Travel Advisory . Also, how is the Biden Administration working to get american hostages home . Lindsey, the State Department issuing this updated Travel Advisory early this morning. Ordering the evacuation of nonemergency staff and their families from u. S. Embassies in jerusalem and tel aviv. It tells americans to avoid or nsider traveling to israel, the west bank, and gaza due to terrorism, armed conflict, and civil unrest. It says in the statement in part, quote, terrorist groups, other violent extremists continue plotting possible attacks in israel and the west nk a gaza. Violence can occur in israel on the west bank of gaza t warning. Therhabeen a marked increase in demonstrations throughout israel. Some with little or no warning. The update on this increasing danger in this region is really putting a new spotlight on the extremely challenging efforts from u. S. Officials to find and recover american hostages that were taken a week ago today by hamas from israel into gaza. President biden meeting yesterday, virtually, for more than an hour with the families of 14 americans who are still unaccounted for. Believed to be among the roughly 150 people taken hostage by hamas. President biden had a message for the Hamas Terrorists who took these hostages when he sat down for an interview with 60 minutes. Take a listen to that. Why do you feel so strongly about speaking to these families, personally, on zoom . I think they have to know that the president of the United States of america cares deeply about what is happening, deeply we have to communicate to the world, this is critical. This is not even human behavior, it is pure barbarism. We are gonna do everything in our power to get them home if we can find them. The white house gave us a little bit more detail on what was discussed during this call. They say that the president told these families that they continue to be in his thoughts and prayers. That he vows to continue these Recovery Efforts for their loved ones. They also say that some of these Family Members shared personal stories about their loved ones with the president. Officials say that these Family Members were also able to ask any questions to u. S. Officials about these challenging ongoing Recovery Efforts. It is not just a president who has these Hostage Effort Top of mind. We know that this is a large part of why we saw Secretary Of StateAnthony Blinken in qatar meeting with foreign leaders as u. S. Officials try to take advantage of countries, neighboring countries in the region, who already have lines, channels of communication, established with hamas. Trying to take advantage. Of that communication, lindsey. Its the idea that the president and the Secretary Of State communicating to the American People in the world that they care deeply about this. That they are actively working on this. That is the strategy. Its the idea that the actual american intelligence and assets and resources are being used to get these hostages out, that is top secret and classified. They are not going to be releasing that publicly . Correct. Actually, the president was asked about this yesterday. He said that this is being kept very tightly under wraps for good reason. , u. S. Officials are giving little detail on how they are trying to get americans out of israel and gaza. Palestinian americans and u. S. Citizens out of israel rather than giving us the full picture on how these hostage Recovery Efforts are going, lindsay. They must be anxious for every piece of information they can get. Eiley raffa, thank you so much. We are learning more about the planning that went into the attack from hamas. Joining me now, new Exclusive Reporting from anna shifter. A member of nbc newss Investigation Unit. And a, how did nbc news obtain these documents . What light to they shed on what went into the planning . Lindsey, in the hours and early days directly after the Terrorist Attack on the music scene and just over the border with gaza, idf as well as other First Responder organizations went in and took information on the death. Took notes on what they were. Seeing the murdered children. Women families killed together. They also found the bodies of Hamas Terrorists killed during the violence. On the bodies of those Hamas Terrorists in pockets where these documents. The First Responders recovered them, photographed them. Currently, the idf is reviewing a trove of documents. A source within the Israeli Government passed the documents that we reported on to me. We analyze them and put out the news last night. What are some of the most disturbing allegations . Obviously a warning to our viewers that the details are difficult but, what sticks out to you . The directive to take hostages and kill as many people as possible. Those were two Bullet Points on one of the pages that and nbc news translator translated into english from arabic. Also, there was the old dot school, the new dot school, and a youth center that ron Bullet Points. Search School Number one, search School Number two, searched the youth center. Sources also told me that dining hall, dental offices, were marked on these maps and were targets. Another directive was to surround and gather hostages within a dining home. It was so detailed that one hamas unit was to take the hostages and hand them off to a second hamas unit. There were even details about how many motorbikes would approach in one unit. How many jeeps. For motorbikes, two jeeps, four motorbikes, two jeeps. The detail is really unprecedented. What my sources have told me is that this is unprecedented to find these detailed accounts in this intelligence on the bodies of the attackers. So brutal, the details, so emotional. I wanted to ask you, you have a new Special Report as msnbc. Com about the Music Festival that people out in hearing. Attendees were able to escape with their lives, they called themselves sitting ducks. They were celebrating a Music Festival for a jewish holiday. Hamas came in and opened fire. We have seen a lot of the images. This reporting is just incredible. What do you want people home, and i encourage everyone to look at, it when they have a chance, in the emotional space on the can, what you want people to take away from that detailed reporting . From interviews with families, interviews with survivors, and reviewing hours of footage put together, compilations of everything that was put out on societal media. It was an all night party that israelis called the nature party. Transport music, there is 3000 people, and what people want to get out is that these people had nothing to do with politics, nothing to do with the military. This is about a big celebration and many of them had been looking forward to four months. The fact that they were unarmed and were really just their dancing at an outdoor concert. The brutality described, going bush to, bush tree to tree, shooting mostly young people there were there. And just enjoying time and be sick with their friends. One of the organizers described to me how she was actually able to get into a jeep. It is her bosss car. She thinks god the vehicle could withstand what she then drove into, which was an ambush. Her car stalled, and she describes to me getting it into reverse and able to drive away even though six armed men, Hamas Terrorists were shooting into her car and wounded three people sitting in her backseat. Thankfully, they all survived, but were taken to the hospital. Imagine, just the image in that Special Report of the burned out cars and amidst the remnants of the festivities. Its just kind of ingrained in my brain, great reporting, thank you. Next, the u. S. Has provided Weapons Intelligence and Security Assistance to israel. What is our role in rescuing hostages held by hamas . We will explore that, ahead. Plore that, ahead. Dude . Dog food in the fridge . Its not dog food. Its freshpet. Real meat. Real veggies. Real weird. He was bad luck anyway. My frequent heartburn had me taking antacid after antacid all day long but with prilosec otc just one pill a day blocks heartburn for a full 24 hours. For one and done heartburn relief, prilosec otc. One pill a day, 24 hours, zero heartburn. Nice footwork. For one and done heartburn relief, prilosec otc. Breaking news out of israel, and the continued response from the International Community. This morning, u. S. Secretary of state Antony Blinken is in saudi arabia, holding a third day of talks across the middle east aimed at preventing the war from expanding. Earlier, he met with the foreign defense minister, and will sit down with United Arab Emirates president. As more questions are being raised about how hamas managed to pull off such an unprecedented attack right under israels nose. U. S. Secretary of defense lloyd austin tried to address that lapse of intelligence yesterday. If we at home, for no of a pending attack against an ally, we clearly would and for that ally. Joining me now, u. S. Correspondent dan angela. What else can you tell us about Antony Blinkens trip to saudi arabia, and what hes hoping to accomplish . Its an attempt to make sure that arab partners in the u. S. Are on the same page, trying to make sure that that conflict already in a terrible state of affairs, does not spread. It does not become a wider war in the region. I think hes also discussing how to protect civilians caught up in gaza. Maybe getting humanitarian aid into gaza, or to get palestinians out of gaza. Civilians out of gaza. Those are all very difficult subjects. Hes not traveling throughout the middle east, jordan, qatar, hes on his way to the emirates after speaking to the saudis. Again, he wants to save the agreement being negotiated between israel and saudi arabia before the hamas attack, which is to normalize relations between israel and saudi arabia, which would be a historic step. I think hes probably trying to preserve that negotiation and ensure that it doesnt unravel. Dan, we heard from Secretary Austin saying that if there was credible intelligence read Something Like this, they would pass it on to our allies. What else do we know about that lapse and intelligence, and what do we know about austins comments . Do we also take this as an admission that they missed this . I think it is a Night Knowledge meant. A u. S. Officials have not pretended that the u. S. Had a clear idea of what was going to have been. This was an intelligence failure. A massive one for israel primarily. This is their backyard, and they pride themselves on having an excellent intelligence service. When theres been criticism inside israel, commentary newspapers, asking how it is possible that the government missed this. I dont think that there is one clear explanation yet, but clearly hamas was able to disable the cameras, Motion Sensors that are on that southern border. They were also able to just swarm that border area through sheer numbers. They saw that there is a weakness, and israel was relying heavily on fences in technology perhaps too much so. They had a false sense of security. There will also be some Soul Searching in washington as to why there was not a bit more of a heads up that Something Like this was coming. They knew vaguely that hamas was getting ready for something at some point, but there is nothing specific. A lot of eyes were focused on the north, where hezbollah is on the west bank. Dan angelou, thank you for joining us with that reporting. Now i will turn to retired Four Star General barry mccaffrey, competing wounded three times. Msnbc National Security commentator. General, thanks for being with us. First, we will go ahead and talk about the Hostage Situation for a minute. Officials are Tellingmsnbc News that and he attempts to rescue the hundred and 50 hostages in gaza will be brutal and painful. At this point, we have almost zero information, new to the israelis about where these hundred and 50 hostages are being held. They either underground, dispersed. There are no active communications coming out of these sites. The idf will have to go into gaza, a city that we have talked to about, a couple Million People. Dominating the service of the ground, which will be intense infantry armor fighting. And then go underground, tunnel, rats offering giants rewards. Sees hamas, political leaders as hostages, try to recover them. Its a perilous mission, and its unlikely to come out very well. The idf has no option but to carry out the incursion. We have to consider this now as the calm before the storm. I might add, i think that the idf General Officers must work on the assumption that hezbollah will intervene from the north once the green once the Ground Attack takes place. Maybe just primarily with missiles, but hezbollah will attack in some manner from the north. Wow. General, suggesting digesting what you just said, but i want to also ask you about nbc news reporting, that israel is going to be using u. S. Made bombs to destroy hamas underground tunnels. Is it feasible to wipe out the whole network . Not until they go into gaza. They have to get in on the ground, theyll be there for a month to 90 days to carry out this operation. Not only will there be better military fighting, carrying this out, but the impact on the Gaza Civilians will be intense. Right now, the International Community needs to gird themselves up to intervene as rapidly as possible. The egyptians have got to open that border. They need to allow tent cities to be put up to try and give relief to the misery thats going to occur in the coming weeks for the civilians in gaza. Hamas, obviously is deliberately exploiting this and trying to prevent the civilian population from fleeing, thats part of their strategy. Telling people not to heed the warnings to lead. The growing humanitarian crisis in gaza, like of resources, fuel, electricity, people will not be driven to drink potentially cant terminated well water. How much does that complicate the situation . Its a major impediment to Israeli Military action. Were going to be fighting in buildup areas. This is infantry, room to room, floor to floor. When they face centers of resistance, theyre going to have to use armor or air force bombs to bring down entire building. Its going to get much worse. I think that the idf will take a deliberate tactical operation to minimize casualties to civilians. They understand global audience is watching the operation being carried out. I see no way for the idf to avoid causing major disruption. Humanitarian effort needs to get organized now to make it to respond to this. As i say, this is going to get much worse. If hezbollah and choose the action, then the idf ability to carry out operations will be split between the two fears of war. Very perilous few weeks ahead of us, and of the israelis. A dire picture that youre painting. Mccaffrey, thank you for your time in service. As we go to break, heres what a surgeon at a hospital in gaza said to nbc news just hours ahead of the evacuation. The according to the army of israel. We dont know if the hospital is safe anymore for us to eye we are waiting still. Re waiting still his 2s are perfect hes a brand new dog, all in less than a year. Back to our coverage of the israelhamas war. Israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu visited israeli troops in gaza today. His Office Released this video a short time ago. Netanyahu, saying that the next steps are coming. Today, the u. S. Reached a tentative agreement with israel and egypt to evacuate americans from gaza. Its grant them safe passage from gaza, but the window for that opening is come and gone. To this hour, its unclear if that border was ever opened, or if any americans relent to leave. Live pictures of gaza now, where israeli airstrikes have continued throughout the day. Hes one palestinian whos been sheltering inside of gaza. We were staying at the place with 45 or 50 other people, including when an elderly couple when, and about 18 or 19 children maybe. Most of us here do not have essentials. Medicine, clothes, underwear for the children. Unicef is calling for an immediate ceasefire in gaza, warning that conditions are quote, catastrophic for palestinian children. Israel has shut off electricity and clean water is running out. As bombing continues to displayed hundreds of thousands of people. Meanwhile, a reisraelis are recovering from the deadliest attack and their nations history. They report at least 1500 dead, more than 3300 wounded. Israeli american alec burden was supposed to marry his fiancee danielle this week. The copy scrambling to get 50 of their loved ones to travel to israel, and get out of the country. And they took action, raising money for the Israeli Defense force. Joining us now, a resident of israel, alec, thank you for your time. Hello, lindsay, thank you for having me on tonight. I just want to first ask you how you and danielle and all of your loved ones are. We are okay. Obviously, tough things they were experiencing, and everyone across this land is experiencing. We quickly mourns the loss of our wedding. I think myself first on saturday right when i saw the video of the Hamas Terrorists that had entered israel. I think it took daniel another 24 hours to totally break down, i needed her to console me on saturday for her to understand the severity of this situation, and learn more over the next 24 hours. Together we made the decision, canceling the wedding on Sunday Morning and alerting our guests. If if he gets inside of the country already, and obviously Everyone Else, we had another additional 70 guests coming to israel, some of whom were still at home. We have tried to act swiftly, and do what we thought we needed to do in order to give people as much of an understanding as possible and release them from the responsibility of being here any longer. Were glad everyone is healthy and safe, but we understand how devastating it is to put your life plans on hold, something you are looking forward to with no clear ending to all of this. You live in a predominantly neighborhood, with daily life feel like now . How is your community responding . I just wanted to first mention. Obviously, we lost our meeting, but a lot of people across this land has lost their Family Members. We feel very lucky. We will get married, were not concerned. In terms of the neighborhood we live in, the sun is setting in tel aviv. As you mentioned, its a predominantly arab neighborhood. It has been nothing but a positive, encouraging, compassionate and empathetic experience on the street. Obviously, when events like this happen in israel, there is an increased anti arab rhetoric, and its important for all of us to understand the nuance of the difference between hamas, palestinians, and arab israelis. I can say nothing but the best things about my arab israeli neighbors, who are not only my neighbors, but also our friends. You have donated thousands of dollars to israeli reservice, why was that so important for you to turn your grief into action . What are you hearing about what reservists are facing on the front lines . I mean, the outreach that i had, the first 25 years growing up in boston, and only the last six in israel after making becoming a citizen of israel. People from all Walks Of Life reached out. Its happened consistently. There has been conflicts over the years. This is clearly Something Different in terms of the severity, and as a result, the outreach and people in america wanting to find a way to help. I wanted to offer them that opportunity to feel connected. That, coupled with the need on the ground, we have many friends that have been called up, folks that have been finishing their army service after the age of 21 or 22. As they continue to be reservice in the idf army, typically they will be 45 years old. They have been taken away from their children, taken from malevolence, called up to defendants. 31,000 individuals called up to the idf. They are in need. The country is mobilizing to support them. The civilian effort is absolutely incredible. I walk around the streets of tel aviv, i am in awe of every single kitchen, every restaurant, bar turned into a support facility. People are packaging all kinds of different materials, whether it is socks, food, baking the soldiers cakes, doing whatever they can to feel like they are playing their small role. This is a way that i can play my small role. Im not in the idf, i went at the age of 26, and therefore i was not recruited into the army. We feel like it is my responsibility. Its my opportunity to play that connecting role between the americasing support that we have received from folks all over the world, and obviously immediately here on the ground. I just want to ask you before you go, we talked about your mobilization, Everyone Else in the community. When we hear but the Human Situation happening in gaza, what are your concerns there, and what do you think needs to happen . Yes, im extremely empathetic two gazans that are civilians. They have nothing to do with hamas. Their lack of choice, they lack of opportunity, indoctrination of children into floyd fighting for hamas. Having grown up in boston with nothing but opportunity, this is obviously a very different reality. I dont have an answer. Hamas needs to be demolished. It is no other option. Israel, and the future of israel cant survive living with hamas as the governing party of gaza. This citizens are unfortunately going to suffer greatly. We need to do everything in our power to provide support in these days. Obviously we need to open free passage. I wish egypt was doing much more to open free passes. Again, i dont have the answer. You can know that there are very many israelis in the situations. They are priming for the best from the citizens of gaza that arent associated with hamas. Alec berkun, thank you. Coming up next, disinformation from the war has flooded our social medias. Why its happening, and why it matters. Y it matters. As fighting intensifies between israel and hamas, so too does the barrage of fake videos and bogus claims flooding social media. Some experts say that this information is being used as a weapon in the war over Public Opinion from old videos claiming to show recent fighting,. To made a post about World Leaders response to the war. Unfortunately, is doing getting more difficult to tell the difference between what is fake and what is real. And, noaa this information is nothing new, but this is ramped up during the war. To borrow a phrase from steve bannon, the thing is flooded with crap. You dont know what is real. Theres some great chances that some of those feeds that youve seen from israel arent really there. Can you tell the difference between these two wore videos . The one on the right, the one that says hamas militants started a new aerosols on parts of israel, is not from a real war. It is even a real video. Videos just like it are getting passed around as real across the worlds biggest social media acts. A lot of the media were seeing includes Terrorist Propaganda, extraordinarily graphic violent content. Disinformation and hate speech. This clip made more than 140,000 times on x, its actually a trailer for the Video Game Arm of three. In this video, falsely claiming the Israeli Air ForceTruck Targets in gaza, is a real video of an israeli strike, but its from a, not the current fighting. These are is having an increasingly difficult time ascertaining what is real or fake. There are verified badges they can be purchased on multiple Social Media Platforms that give you the veneer of authenticity. Like this memo tweeted from a verified account, saying that the Biden Administration authorized Eight Billion Dollars of military aid to israel. Its also a fake, edited from the original release of july of this year, detailing 400 million in aid from ukraine. Warfare today includes the battle over Public Opinion. Disinformation is a weapon on that front. It does not just erode public trust. This issue can actually have a real world impact on public safety. Many social media companies, including the leslie tight moderated x, have banned accounts humid but theyre not willingly sharing the clinton anyway. We see a lot of Terrorist Propaganda on one platform that spreads across other platforms. Eckes released a statement, saying that they are quote, laser focused and dedicated to make statements for x. The newly created hamas affiliated accounts. Msnbc rallies reached out to take, tuck as well as facebook and instagram, but have not heard back. Think before you engage and share content. Ask yourself if youre being helpful, the answer is likely no, you dont have to share that content. Lets talk about if somebody does see a video that they want to share, whats the best advice . Number one, pause. Another video might even a familiar belief of what is happening out there, but you are contributing to the problem if you share something that is not believable. If you are sharing some of the doesnt turn out to be real, your friends and family might not believe what theyre sharing. Look at the original post. Or if its an established msnbc we have assets on the ground, entire departments dedicated to verifying information. Dont care if you have any doubts. Thank you so much. The white house has been talking right now to lawmakers on capitol hill about how to best aid israel, and his fight againss. Including the possibility combining aid for israel, ukraine, and taiwan in an Emergency Defense Spending though. This would put pressure on lawmakers pushing back on sending more aid right now. Joining us now is msnbc International Affairs analyst, former ambassador to russia, michael mcfaul. Ambassador, thank you for being with us this morning. What are your thoughts on combining aid . Is that an effective strategy . I think it is. I wish that it were up and down votes on all of these different issues. Before the crisis in the house, we had 300 members of Congress Supporting aid to ukraine. They dont get many 3 to 1 votes in this in congress today, and so Everyone Needs to remember this small a couple of weeks ago, but if you have to put it all together, im in favor of that. The u. S. Has offered unwavering support to israel, but i wonder if there is a point where the u. S. Might say that this is going too far. What are the red lines . I think Secretary Blinken is trying to outline them very diplomatically as he travels around the middle east. Ive often said very clearly, and especially when he was in israel, i think it was one of his finest moments. You have to listen to what he is saying as well in these paragraphs. The United States doesnt want to see the idf violate International Law as they go into gaza. Finding that militant line, its a hard line, but is the right position from the Biden Administration. What theyre talking about right now. Iran is closely allied to russia. Is what is happening in israel distracting from what putin is doing in ukraine . Absolutely. Look, we are talking about russia at the end of your hour, not the beginning. That is exactly what putin wants. The focus is off of him generally. Number two, there are many discussions about crimes against humanity going on in the United States around the world with respect to the impending war in gaza. Nobody is talking about the crimes against humanity that putin has been doing inside of ukraine every day. Number three, if you listen to what mr. Putin is saying, hes just doubling down on old positions that they supported two state solution, and doing nothing to try and stop this impending war. Barely criticizing those Terrorist Attacks. It puts him on the side of most of the world, and hes enjoying this moment right now. Notwithstanding the fact that you just said, theres an alliance between hamas and iran. Theres an alliance between iran and russia. These are deeply intertwined autocracies. I want to talk about iran and hamas for a second. Earlier, Secretary Blinken told msnbc news that there is no direct evidence that iran was involved in the attack with hamas. But do you think its possible that hamas carried out this attack of this magnitude without external support . No, i do not. Hamas was created by iran. Iran funds hamas. Its an instrument of Iranian Foreign policy. I understand that maybe they do not have the intelligence to say, go in and do this, they do not have that inter stop. But everybody should be clustered clear about hamas from the very beginning, theyve been an instance of Iranian Foreign policy. And you can look at the reaction in tehran. Did they criticize the terrace . They celebrated them. I think that that to me is very important evidence to suggest that maybe theyre going to say going today, but where they providing the weapons . Giving them the Defector Greenlight like this . I think the answer is pretty clear. Mcfaul, a key for your time. We are going to have much more in the next hour on the israelhamas war.
