Sky news reports from the heart of the israeli destruction, with up to 700 killed in hamas attacked, and 260 bodies recovered from a Music Festival. The sound of the iron dome, the Israeli Defense system. Hostage fear, as we report on the fate of those missing in israel, and feared captured by hamas fighters. Thanks, mark. Also coming up on the program for you all smiles and liverpool, as the Shadow Chancellor prepares to reveal her plans for the uk economy at the Labour Party Conference. We will speak to her live. Whitehall walk out. Cleaners, Security Guards and support staff at three departments go on strike today. Just this and passengers stranded, as a typhoon causes flooding in hong kong. And flooding to in scotland, causing road and rail chaos there. This morning, everyone. Also, the very latest on what is happening with metro bank, if youve got a mortgage with them, what impact the latest have an eye whats happening with the oil price and a very busy show to bring you today. All the days top stories. Very shortly, indeed. First, our main story, of course, and the developments in the israel hamas war. Mark, standing by for us in jerusalem. Hello, mark, good morning. Yeah, good morning, kay. Im good morning from israel. There is fresh fighting this morning between hamas and Israeli Forces outside of gaza. The Israeli Defense force has said they thought we would be in a better place by now. Israels prime minister, benjamin netanyahu, has vowed to turn much of gaza into rubble in revenge for what he described as a black day of hamas attacks on saturday. These are the Key Developments this morning. And an Israeli Military spokesperson has said that, while their forces are fighting hamas gunman, in 7 to 8 places in Southern Israel, they thought they would be in a better place by now. Overnight, israel has intensified its bombardment of the gaza strip, were the godson Gazan Health Ministry says more than 400 people have been killed there at least 700 people have been reportedly killed in israel, and about 260 bodies have been removed from a Music Festival targeted by hamas in the south of the country. And last night, the u. S. Said it would send warships and also fighter jets in to support israel. [sound of artillery] these are the latest pictures we are getting, as israel continued to hit the gaza strip with retaliatory airstrikes overnight. The Gazan Health Ministry said 78 children are among 400 killed in the territories so far. The u. N. Agency for Palestinian Refugee said school, sheltering more than 2025 people, took a direct hit. The u. N. Says more than 123,000 people in have been displaced so far. Some rockets were also fired towards israel from gaza overnight. Lets speak, then, to our International Affairs editor, dominic waghourne, who is in Southern Israel. Dominic, it is astonishing to think that, for eight hours after this attack began, that there are still hamas Gunman Operating in Southern Israel. Mark, it is astonishing. Everyone is really happy to say they never would have believed theyve seen with 18 the last 48 hours, and they are very worried about the days ahead. I think whats most astonishing is the fact that the idea idf seven or eight places around the communities around gaza and in similar situations those hamas fighters are Still Holding hostages. So, its a complicated operation still taking it on so hamas is still able to get out of gaza, either by through the breeches, the many breaches made in the security fence. And that poses a threat to the people of these communities around gaza and we have seen it yesterday a group of hamas militants possibly gotten by sea, hijacked a car, then went through the streets of and started shooting people, 15 israelis killed, reportedly, before they were killed in turn by israeli soldiers. So, people in the cities like are, as you can see the shops are shuttered behind me. It feels like a bit of a ghost town here. We are talking to a man who runs a coffee shop there. He said on the first morning the bomb shelters in these town were full. And they are now half full. So, a lot of people have house had been hit by rocket and they were getting out and going to friends in the north of the country. I think what is really compounding the fear as well as what see on social media, really harrowing video, for instance, of israeli toddlers stuck in cages, apparently, with the sound of arab voices laughing about them. Now verified. But absolutely, profoundly distressing for israelis, really touching on that, i guess, years of collective trauma, generations of collective trauma that you have experienced over the centuries. A lot of videos that a terrifying, distressing and really angering israelis here, who want to see revenge, but know that any Operation Israelis launch in retaliation or revenge for this, will be complicated by the fact that they are 150, or scores at, least of hostages still being held in gaza by hamas. Still bein held in gaza b Dominic Waghoru very much. So, there is a fact this morning, fighting still going on in Southern Israel, our chief correspondent Stewart Ramsey reports from the city of sderot, and a warning that his report contains images of the body bags of the bloodied victims and the aftermath of one attack. Summer didnt cold blood on a sunny saturday morning, the bodies of some of the victims of the hamas attack have yet to be removed. A blood splattered cars where they were killed are parked a few feet away. The vehicles and broken by the hail of bullets. This was a coordinated attack on the town of sderot. The road leading to it is lined with vehicles attacked by hamas as they drove towards the city in the Surprise Attack. Some escaped on foot. But many were killed or taken hostage and drive into gaza. Survivors like in their homes praying the gunman would not find them. It was simply terrifying, they say. Translator i was shocked, shocked. I heard shooting. And i couldnt believe it. Six in the morning on a saturday, on the holiday. It was a scary place. The main Police Station is destroyed. Taken over by the gunman who killed 20 officers. The scale of what happened here is clearly unfathomable for the people of israel and nobody ever thought this was remotely possible. In the end, the Defense Forces destroyed the station, and in many ways, its a symbol of a Security System that has simply failed. When we as the idf, when one person is killed, we take it as a personal loss and personal responsibility. Here, where hundreds of people have been killed, we will do the most thorough analysis, we will learn our lessons. We will make sure that that is never happens again. But thats gonna be to for tomorrow. Restore peace to the people of israel, and make sure that hamas never has the capability again to do this kind of carnage to the people of israel. Ind of carnage to the p the roads heo Southern Israel are eerily quiet. The country is scared and has been scarred by this attack. Security is now everywhere. The only cars in any significant numbers are heading north. On board, families, moving away from the gaza border line, with anything they can squeeze in. I to petrol station, we came across swat teams. They are here to retrieve hostages taken by hamas, and it still inside israel. Amongst them, our negotiators. But this is an ongoing war. And you are never far from it. Those jets in the air, thats of the iron dome, the Israeli Defense system. And somebody is putting on their helmets. You are never quite sure what is happening at any given time out here. The dome protecting israel, but it is still unnerving. You see the jets are above us as well. So, this is very much an active battlefield, in many ways. The police and the swat teams are here because, further along the road, it is believed hostages are still being the Defense Forces are still securing the gaza border. But there is already a huge buildup of soldiers and hardware. And an israeli incursion is coming, and it will be bloody. The government is in no mood for mercy. And that will inevitably cost the lives of civilians. Stuart ramsey, sky news, Southern Israel. Southern israel. And i will be bringing you this program tonight, israel hamas war, a special program live from here in jerusalem. That is at 9 00 tonight, uk time, here on sky news. And the truth, is kay, that the casualties and trauma being suffered on both sides is truly horrific. It certainly is, mark. I know you are going to update us further throughout the course of the program. Thanks very much indeed. Lets bring in rachel, we Shadow Chancellor. Its Party Conference, in labor pool. And the weekend. It is appalling, the scenes that we are seeing from israel. Israel has been attacked by terrorists, has every right to defend itself, to get the hostages back and to protect its citizens. Hamas, by its actions, have set back the cause for peace that so many of us are desperate to see in the middle east. And it has been a very sad few days for the people of israel and for all those who want peace. Palestinian ambassador to the United Kingdom said the attack on israel was coming their way in his words, said to appear alongside david lamy, at the Labour Party Conference later on she is that still the case . Look, i am very upset about those remarks. Israel and the attacks on civilians, the festival goers, the children who have been taken hostage. It is completely unacceptable. And here, david, myself, the whole of the labour party, stand by the people of israel at this moment. What should david lammy, who is potentially the next Foreign Secretary, being appearing on a stage with those who perished i dont know let me just finish the question, ms. Rachel reeves so many people murdered, slaughtered, in cold blood on saturday morning. And this Palestinian Ambassador saying it was coming their way. Is it in any way appropriate that your would be Foreign Secretary sharing a stage with him. I dont know what davids schedule is for a conference. I have not heard those remarks. But they are totally unacceptable, and we disagree with them entirely. Would you Implore David not to share the stage with him . Look, i dont know what davids schedule is and i dont know whether this man is at our conference, but david has been very clear, and unequivocal, about labors support for israel, for the people of israel, the right to defend themselves, their right to protect civilians and the right to get hostages back. We have been absolutely categorical about that. What about your own mp, espanna bergum, pictured was that appropriate . About having support for the right israel to defend itself. If britain was attacked by terrorists, everyone would agree that we have the right to defend ourselves against terrys tax. Israel is no different. Israel has absolutely the right to defend itself against terrys tax, to bring the hostages home and to protect its citizens. We stand by israel as they attempt to do just that. I hear you. Two of your mps, one of them is a very serious and he, it is squaring with palestinian activists. Okay, thats not the case. David let me has been absolutely categorical about Labor Support for israel to defend itself. Starmer has as well yesterday been categorical about Labor Support for israel and defending itself at this time of need. We stand squarely alongside israel. Why is the economy safe in your hands . Well, ill be setting out labors plans today to grow the economy. Make working People Better off. All of this is underpinned by a set of fiscal rules and the eye or disciplined with which i would enforce them. Im under no illusions of the scale challenge that i would inherit if i had the privilege of becoming Chancellor Of The Exchequer next year. That is why i have said that when it gets decked downers, a share of the national economy. It is why i have said that we would pay for today spending their tax receipts. It is only through that iron discipline that we will get Britain Back On [inaudible] we have to grow the economy. What we have seen these last 13 years, this growth on its knees, taxes at the highest level for 70 years. Public services are on the floor. We have to turn this around. Which is why, in my Conference Speech today, i will be setting out how we are going to reaffirm the antiquated system to get an investment here in britain, to get Infrastructure Investment going here in britain. Of the last two and a half years, ive had the privilege of working with many businesses that have helped inform these plans because i see huge potential in our country, businesses and families with huge ambition for themselves and businesses in their communities. A government that doesnt match that scale up ambition. That has got to change if we are going to realize our True Potential and get the growth, the prosperity and, ultimately, the improvements in Living Standards for working people. How are going to do that, miss reeves, if theres no money . Well, this is about getting businesses to invest. What businesses say to me all of the time is that we have money to invest, but we are either choosing not to or even worse, we are choosing to invest elsewhere in america, asia, other European Countries because they have governments that want to work alongside businesses. They have Planning Systems that actually allow shovels to get in the ground, cranes to get into the sky. Last week at the conservative conference, they canceled their Flagship Investments in high speed rail. This year, at our conference, we are going to be setting out our plans to get investment, to get that infrastructure built, because it it is by doing that, by unleashing that private sector investment, but we can get that Productivity Growth and get that Economic Growth in all parts of our country that we need and improve Living Standards, but also to get the money to invest in our public services. All right, that publics after investment will speak [inaudible] to manchester, will it . Well, you know, that i cant make that commitment. The government have blown a hole in the budget. 30 billion pounds over budget because they lost a grip on it. I know that the economic inheritance that the Labor Government will face will be dire. Im not going to make any on costed or unfunded spending commitments. But what i can promise is that i will reform how our Planning System works, to get that investment, private sector investment, in our energy infrastructure, in 5g infrastructure. And getting batteries built for electric nichols. We have so much potential as a country, but we are being held back by 13 years of chaos and uncertainty from the conservatives. By a Planning System that mitigates against building when we need to see that investment to boost our productivity and get our economy moving again. For you, i think your speech is about midday, if im not [inaudible] thank you. Thats great. Of course, we will be covering it live here on sky news. Thanks for taking the time to join us this morning. Thank you. Thank you very much. Just receiving some Breaking News here on the sky. A hearing about ways air, the airline that goes from lieutenant, i think. Due to a situation in israel, they are saying, we have canceled flights to and from tel aviv until further notice. That is wizz air, monitoring the situation in israel after the Surprise Attack by hamas on saturday morning, the death toll is already reaching Something Like 1100 on both sides of israel hamas war. We are hearing that they have canceled their flights until further notice. That is the latest that we are hearing. I can also tell you that these really military is saying that the attacks launched by hamas on saturday are compared to the 2001 Terror Attacks on the u. S. Theyre also saying that the military is still coming across some areas of resistance from hamas fighters on israeli territory. We will get more on that. We will update you, of course. In the meantime, thats very much whats happening with the newspapers this morning. Lets start with the guardian newspaper. Should wait . This is their front page. The guardian showed the destruction in israel from the hamas attack, death toll exceeding 1100. Times pictures nathaniel young, part of the Israeli Defense force, killed by hamas and a missing brett, jake marlowe. A quick look at the front of the express, fourpage image of a missile text saying russias pledge, terrorism will not prevail. Laura standing by for us in liverpool. This morning, hello to you, laura. What did you make from what we were hearing from the Shadow Chancellor this morning . Morning, k. I think what was really interesting was how strong she was when it came to labor stands on supporting israel and condemning the attacks of hamas on israeli civilians. She said it was completely unacceptable. She also condemned the comment of the Palestinian Ambassador in the uk, who had said to sky news yesterday that attacks on israel from hamas had been coming. She also said those comments were completely unacceptable. What was interesting, carrie, is that she didnt confirm whether david lamy, shuttle Foreign Secretary, potentially, was still planning on sharing a platform with the Palestinian Ambassador to the uk, despite those comments, or whether that might be counseled. She did confirm on that. She couldnt confirm as whether that would go ahead or be canceled. I think it is really eyes on david lamy about the plans for that tomorrow. Also, the stakes really couldnt be higher for the labour party. After rooting out antisemitism for storm, or the party needs to convince the public that they can be trusted when it comes to not allowing antisemitism or any with of antisemitism to come into the party. That is a real challenge for the labour party. That is why Rachael Reeves was so strong on her comments on hamas. Joining you as well, i think, ed, what did you think about what the shuttle Foreign Secretary Shadow Chancellor, forgive me, was saying when it came to investment, private investment into infrastructure in the country. Whether that was stretch to [inaudible] yeah, i mean, to be honest with you, the most were getting from people is that each has to essentially has been canceled, its going to be very difficult to get some of those parts of the root council back. Its part of the message that labor really wants to underline. They want to be the party of the skull making promises that they cannot keep and whats going to be really interesting about this conference, were going to see Rachel Reeves and the speech later on, its not just hearing about different policies. Theyre going to be policies on the economy, housing, investment, all of these different things. Just seeing the way it is framed, its gonna be interesting to see who introduces her. Some highprofile business people, people of economics who will be there. It is that framing. They want to show that they are the government in waiting. That is the whole point of this conference, really. Where the government and waiting here. Also, there is a subtle message as well. Whereas last week the conservative Party Conference was all about the conservatives essentially counseling things, hs2, net zero that has been changed. The Government Policy has become less ambitious on that. Here, you have the labour party saying what they do want to do. Thats on housing, investments, on all of the other projects they want to support. It is a tone, i think, that really matters of these places. I think that one is going to be quite clear here from rachel rates. Her speech coming up around midday today. Obviously, enormously overshadowed at all the events in the conference about what is happening. Israel. Im fluctuations on the market. We will watch that as well. All right. Thank you. Thank you, mary, back to you later on in the program. Before that, lets bring in and should really. And, kim to know whats happening with metro bank. Should you be worried . Well, metro bank has reached 325 Million Pounds in new capital this morning, k. 150 million of that comes with an equity issue. 100 of which comes from the colombian billionaire, golinsky. Hes the second richest man in columbia. He is a shareholder of metro bank, since 2019. Hes putting up 102 Million Pounds, or so. The equity being raised. That will leave him as metro banks largest shareholder with 53 . Theres also 175 Million Pounds worth of debt being issued and existing 600 Million Pounds worth of debt being refinanced. I can tell you from the Share Reaction that the market likes this very much. Shares are up some 19 so far this morning. Obviously, the new equity issued a significant discount. Shares closed on friday evening that 45 p. The new equity is being given to golinsky to 30 year or so. The shares have popped a 53page. It looks like this bankers are much more even keel right now. There are still issues over mortgage. Proportion of Mortgage Book is going to be sold and various buyers, apparently, we are told. Potentially santander, was banking group, mount west. Just when ive got you, but well prices going through the roof as well. Given whats happening in the middle east. Not really, k. [inaudible] as we speak, oil price is up to dollars 80 cents a barrel. Thats about 3 . A really takes the all plus. It had a toward week last week. Getting up for 10 on the week. We are back to where we were last wednesday afternoon. It is not really that traumatic, if im being honest. Thats me told. Thanks very much, indeed. Thank you. Look at some of the stories making headlines for you this morning. Schools are shutting and flights have been grounded in hong kong as there are remnants of Typhoon Koinu brought heavy rain and strong gales. The storm left hundreds of passengers stranded at the airport. Underground metro stations, overnight. The typhoon has weakened into a tropical storm. Many areas are still inundated with water just a month after the city was hit with record breaking rainfall. Floods brought havoc to scotland over the weekend, causing disruption to pit road and rail network. Presses the country saw one months rain in 24 hours. A severe Flood Warning including a risk to life, which remains in place in some areas. Flooding has been compared to the infamous Beast From The East storm, other parts of the uk enjoyed the warmest start to october for five years. More than 2400 people have died in an earthquake in western afghanistan, according to the countrys ruling taliban. The magnitude 6. 3 quake struck at last time on saturday, followed by strong aftershocks. Hundreds are still feared to be trapped in that rubble as Rescue Workers and survivors stick around the clock to reach them. Strikes again. Papers with us. Tell us about it. More strikes this time inside Government Departments insults. Cleaners, Security Guards, and staff can be working all week from today at three departments. They are the department for energy, department for business, and the department for science, innovation and technology. The dispute is all about pay. Its the second time they have done this week on walk out. Weve been offered a 2. 2 pay rise by their employers. The union says, look, compared to inflation, that is peanuts. Lets hear what their National President said, heathcote, he spoke to a little bit earlier. He did. Our numbers provide cooking, cleaning, Security Services to some of the richest businessmen in the world. At the same time, theyre employed and they have a pay offer of 2. 2 was the Inflation Rendering at 6. 8 . Clearly, they work alongside people who are looking much bigger increases. Many of them have low paying members anyway. Working two or three jobs just to get by. This is really a dispute to try to get them a reasonable pay increase. So, whilst thats going on all week, also today, you have Security Guards at the House Of Commerce Voting On Whether or not to strike. If they do, it will be restricted access to parliament, long queues to get inside, for everyone who works there, including mps. Indeed, stephen, a look at the weather . Next couple of days, mostly very warm. Scotland will turn mainly dry for time. There will be more rain tomorrow. Mostly mild now. Its rather murky for much of the north and near coast in the west. Central britain has some patchy rain. Some inland fog is in the south as well. Well. Coming up, going to be leveling with the latest on the escalating conflict between israel and hamas. Israel and hamas you deserve better than that. Im hungry, im in a hurry, i dont have time to make anything healthy. You could if you had a blendjet. Blendjet . Its the portable blender that makes the healthy choice the most convenient choice. I dont know. It seems like a hassle. Hahaha wrong. Just pour in some milk, add some frozen fruit, and bam youve got a nutritious and delicious smoothie. Mmm that is good. Youre welcome, sad office guy. Get yours today at blendjet. Com are we in in an ad . We sure are. You are watching the practice show here on sky news on monday morning. We will be bringing the latest from liverpool where the Labour Party Conference is underway. Dont forget, of course, the Shadow Chancellor will be making her speech at midday today. More on that. Also, lets tell you more about israels defense force. Theyve told sky news that they thought theyd be in a better place and they are in the battle against hamas. At least 700 israelis have been killed, more than 400 palestinians since the mass launched attack on israel on saturday. Pockets of resistance, were being told, on israeli territory. Two of the Labour Party Conference and liverpool, well be focusing on reviving the economy. The single biggest obstacle to the economy. Strikes, cleaners, Security Guards and support staff in three whitehall departments. Starting a five day strike today, demanding an increase in pay. Good morning again from jerusalem. More than 100 people have been taken hostage by hamas. That is according to a senior official of the militant group. More people remain missing. These are the faces of just some of those, their families have posted their pictures on social media, desperately seeking information. Their shared fear, of course, is they are dead or, as is becoming increasingly clear, theyve been taken hostage by hamas. Among them is noah, a 25yearold. She was among hundreds of people dancing that night away at a Music Festival just hours before the mass attacked. This is the moment noaa is kidnapped. Manhandled onto up motorbike and driven across the desert. A friend of noah confirmed just sky news that it is her on the bike. Arms outstretched, She Baiter Captors not to kill her. Later, a video was released appearing to show her sat on her own, drinking some water. Of course, we dont know exactly where that is. Her father spoke to the media. What can i say . All my life, since she was born, i try to protect her and how her and support her and love her. Here, at this difficult moment, at least sure her up. I couldnt offer her a hand. British national, jake marlowe, was working at the festival as a security guard. We havent heard from him since Early Morning yesterday. What i understand is there were rockets that fired over that party. They were in attempt to evacuate party goers from the venue. Well, im joined by neuro, dare an analyst and former spokesperson for the Palestinian Authority. Good morning, thank you very much for being with us. First of all, do you condemn this Terror Attack by hamas . Well, im not sure why we should be spending time, instead of putting contacts. Asking me about my opinion. And here is an analyst. I dont represent anybody, mark. I dont think that this is we seem to be obsessed with asking the same questions. Whether talking about the same things, demanding some sort of line to be drawn between good guys and bad guys. You should know better. You should know that the story is far more complex and nuanced than that. Well, it is possible to have a Human Reaction to these things. Of course, of course. What im saying what im saying is that viewers time to give them context rather than my opinion, which, naturally, it would be that i cant tolerate to see any civilian put in a civil tuition of danger. Unfortunately, this is commonplace in a country that has been under occupation and brutal oppression for over half a century. It does not always make the news on your screen, but it is an everyday reality for palestinians. Well, it quite often does make the news on our screen. The reason why im asking, nor, is that you are an analyst and you know about these things. I just wondered what you thought was achieved by murdering women and children, by massacring people at a Music Festival and taking these hostages . I wonder, you know, what is hamas seeking to achieve by that . Well, let me start from the beginning, which is that for months, even here on sky news, experts and observers like me have warned the situation is reaching a breaking point. Israel is having a Record Number of palestinian civilians, imprisoning a number of civilians and mulching a Record Number of palestinian homes. Theres absolutely no horizon. We have a right wing government that has stated its goal as decimating hope for palestinian statehood. So, that reality brought us to where we are now where diplomatic efforts partly both as diplomatic terrorism. Wire academics, who speak, out are labeled as antisemitic. Where Anti Normalization within civil spaces, for justice, for palestinian rights, is also really bold and maligned. There were no avenues. It was an unfortunate for hamas and others who see no other option, but armed action, to take center stage. That failure to create a horizon is exactly what brought us all to this very tragic point where everybody is suffering. Yeah, absolutely. Clearly, palestinians have legitimate grievances. My point is, really, what does a Terror Attack like this do to help the palestinians . Well, again. Its not about that one attack. It is about a tenth and situation. With no options for breakthrough. No options for an end to the occupations. No and to the two palestinians in gaza whose majority are under 35 years of age. A 20 old in gaza has already survived five wars. One of them that lasted for 51 days. Each and every one of them, hundreds of children, were killed. And tire families arrived out, just as they are being right now in gaza. The answer, for me, has to do with changing the mantra and changing the way we deal with this. This is not about good guys versus bad guys. Its not about whether you allow israel, which is accused of documenting war crimes, to commit even more war crimes in order to maintain its stranglehold and control over the palestinians. It is about ending this once and for all. About giving palestinians the right to be free. Free from this cycle. Free from being beholden to a dynamic of violence and brutality. Both ways. Okay. Noah, appreciate your time. Thank you very much for coming on. Joining us for more is our international correspondent, alex rossi, who is in the lebanese capital of beirut. Well, the regional dimension tool is crucial, alex. Of course, the fears that Hezbollah Group may and her despite. Yeah, its a very complicating situation to a crisis, which is already deepening, mark. Whats going on and gaza looks as though its going to get much worse. It almost certainly seems as though israelis are going to launch a ground incursion. What could happen on the northern border would make that much worse indeed. Now, when we listened to what hezbollah are saying, theyre saying rockets and missiles are with hamas. The two groups are aligned. World cups are sponsored by iran. Both of them are legal terrorist organizations. Hezbollah and israel have gone to war before 2006. We have an idea of just how destructive that could be. We have also seen some signaling from hezbollah that they will be prepared to join in. Yesterday, they fired an israeli radar station. We would fall on what you would understand that israels would understand are the rules of engagement. It wasnt a contested zone. They fired at cities in that north. It is a very worrying sign. It is a sign, really, that hezbollah are signaling that they are here. They are prepared to join in the fray, if they deem things going too far. Okay. Alex, thank you very much. We will have more from here jerusalem. The coming hours. Lets go back to kate now in london. Okay, mark. Thank you. Still to come at the very latest on the escalating conflict between israel and hamas. Also, we will be speaking to the chief rabbi of United Hebrew complication of the commonwealth. Commonwealth this halloween, trick or treat yourself to the blendjet 2 portable blender. Its to die for. Hello, thank you for joining us. Your reaction to the events of the weekend. You know, we just emerged from a twoday festival. Its a season of rejoicing. It is post be one of the happiest times of the year. Of course, transform for us in two days of mourning, deep grief and trauma. I, like many others, emerge from the festival last night, like many others, havent slept much. This is an absolutely horrific time. How could this have happened . You know, that is certainly our many peoples minds. Im sure people are trying to work it out in the course of the future. Right now, israel is at war. The first question that we are asking others when giving them a call here in the uk is, how is everyone in your family . There certainly isnt a Church Family in uk that hasnt been affected and one way or another by this. Also, ive been inundated with so many messages of support and solidarity, from so many people throughout britain. I sense that there is no civil last person who can be unmoved, deeply shocked and cant be deeply shocked by the seeds. See what has transpired and i know there are many, many people who are with the suffering in israel right now. How can palestinians and israelis reconcile but their fate . But their faith . Yeah. Jewish people have been people of faith for the all the time that we have been around. We have gone through so many traumas. Despite so many numerous attempts to annihilate us, we are here. We exist and strength and thank god that we have a jewish country in israel. A tiny country, the size of oils, which is just gone through no comparison is perfect, but in terms of scale, israel has just experienced its 9 11. In terms of chalk, israel has experienced its pearl harbor. We are praying. Theres been many prior services. United synagogue is hosting the Large Services evening and northwest london. There will be a major vigil and central on john today, together with many other services. We pray this time and give charity and we show our solidarity. As a man of god, can you pray for the palestinians trapped in gaza . So, the loss of all innocent life, suffering of all innocent people, its a tragedy. Our hearts go out to everyone, wherever they might be. Israel, at this very moment, is fighting a war. Thereve been horrific scenes of terrorists going from house to house, dragging sometimes whole families out. Taking hostages, parading them in the streets. There has been a Music Festival just outside kibbutz regime, which like glastonbury, 260 teenagers were murdered in cold blood. They go even higher, of course. Yes, absolutely. Its some, theyre not taking the word terrorists for those who are committing these atrocities. Massive taurus organization as far as the government is concerned. Absolutely. If one doesnt use the word terrorist, one is providing a window of opportunity for justification and nothing can justify this. You can imagine terrace attack glastonbury and murder 260 teenagers. What with the British Public say about anyone in the media who wouldnt call the purpose terrace. I hear you. I heard. It is a tragedy for all civilians, isnt it . Absolutely. Yes. What happens next . Gosh, we pray to cod that israel will be able to fight this war successfully. Israel is striving to protect her citizens, that is her responsibility. The atrocities continue. The trauma continues. Very hard to know what went wrong. It is an extraordinary bad. Clearly, has been an entire intelligence failure. An inquiry and deep inquiry for what happened to all Israeli Intelligence services are extremely competent. No service is perfect. How exactly 50 years ago, during the cold war. Theyll have to work hard whether theyre alliance, technical intelligence, that hamas managed work around, and create. The Lines On Human Intelligence im speculating, i dont know. We will have to see what happens. Sir david, one wonders about the motivation for hamas. They will feel, when the shaka subsided, the iron bestof israel. They will. In some ways, i feel thats what they want. I think theyre trying to establish themselves as the voice of the palestinians. I think they have been disturbed by possibility that israel might do a deal with saudi arabia. Amateur for saudi arabia there might have been concessions to the Palestinian Authority on the west bank and the Hamas Terrorists are deeply opposed to the Palestinian Authority. I think that what theyre trying to do is capture the sense of frustration and anger among palestinians. Make sure its focused on hamas as the expression, if you like, of resistance to israel. I dont think they mind having created this situation. In a sense, it has captured the intention that they want and has made them, if you like, the focus for what it would see as palestinian resistance. Just a thought before i let you go, the saudis, the iranians, syrians, keeping an eye on what is happening in israel. In the meantime, countries like qataris are desperate to seek some calmness in what could potentially be a pattern tag in this area. Im sure you are right. It will be a top priority of the arab world now to find some kind of ceasefire. Its going to be very difficult to negotiate. If the americans at the same interest as the europeans. The question is now, what happens on the ground in gaza . Is it possible to contain violence . And gaza. Or is this were going to spread . Its and it was interest that it should spread. That is what, certainly, i would expect the arabs and europeans are working very hard to try to achieve. Okay. We must leave it there for now. Thank you for your expertise. Thank you.
