Special two hour addition of the katie phang show. So, its been a little over 24 hours since the Palestinian Militant Group hamas launched an unprecedented attack on israel. That has left over 200 dead, thousands injured, and an unknown number of captives abducted and taken into gaza. According to the Israeli Foreign ministry. Today, israel finds itself fighting on two fronts. On the Southern Border with hamas, and returning fire on hezbollah in the north, after the iranbacked Lebanese Military group fired dozens of rockets and shells in solidarity with hamas at three israeli positions in a disputed area along the countrys border with syrias Israeli Occupied golan heights. The day was filled with the sound of Air Raid Sirens and later is really retaliation air strikes lit up the night sky, as they hammered the gaza strip, Leveling Buildings and leaving over three interpositions dead and thousands injured, according to gazas ministry of health. Israel has also halted their supply of fuel, electricity, and other goods into gaza. The region is largely dependent on israel for its electricity supply, and according to the united nations, has suffered chronic Power Shortages for several decades. Severely restricting the provision of vital civilian services such as health care, sanitation, and water. All of this follows israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu declaration that his country was in a state of war that would take mighty vengeance for the attacks. The International Community has condemned the attacks by hamas, but President Biden made it clear that the United States stands firmly behind its ally. You know what, i spoke to Prime Minister netanyahu this morning. I told him the United States stands with the people of israel in the face of these terrorist assaults. Israel has the right to defend itself and its people, full stop. Theres never justification for terrorist attacks, and my administration will support security and is rocksolid and unwavering. Let me say this as quickly as i can, this is not a moment for any party hostile to israel to exploit these attacks to seek advantage. The world is watching. Joining me now, molly, and you see news foreign correspondent. Molly, good morning. Thank you for joining us and getting us started in this hour. Please, bring us up to speed on whats happening there right now. We did get some overnight developments. These are the numbers we have, and these are constantly shifting, katie. We do expect those death tolls on both sides to go up, but i do have some details, at least about the active areas that we are still seeing gun fights in southern israel. Those are those settlements, the villages, the towns right around the gaza border in southern israel. So according to an overnight briefing by a spokesperson for the Israeli Military, he says there are at least eight active areas. That is a real priority, and the priority to root out any militants that are still in that area, then secure those areas. And then what theyre doing is moving Israeli Citizens to safer areas. So they will look to start massive activating those areas. The other thing he said, of course that is in advance of a possible Ground Invasion in advance of the real israel response that we will start to see. But the other thing he talked about is actually moving, evicting, and evacuating, he use those words, some of the gaza citizens away with some of those main city centers inside that gaza molly, ill kiss on, the armed wing of hamas said that they will declare the number of prisoners, is really prisoners, within hours. What we know, molly, about the hostages, if anything at all . Do we know if theyre civilians, soldiers, and what are you hearing about that over there . Yeah, this is one of the most, if not the most piece of Sensitive Information right now for the Israeli Government. And what really struck me, ive covered several wars there. I was based in jerusalem. Usually the Israeli Military covers the narrative. They put out statements frequently. Yesterday, there was a real truth of information in the afternoon and i think what we have been speaking to analysts about and what are is that it is because that information about the hostages, about who they, are about how many is so unbelievably sensitive that they do not want to jeopardize any kind of operations. We do not know how many. We understand that theyre both civilians and soldiers, but for the Israeli Government, this is the priority. This is an incredibly sensitive issue, not just for the Security Establishment but also for us really people. And i think we will probably not hear those numbers from the Israeli Government if hamas releases those numbers, i think the Israeli Government will probably say we should take those with a grain of salt. And molly, any indication or any new insight into why this was such a Surprise Attack by hamas yesterday morning . Yeah, such a Surprise Attack. I think this will go down in history as one of the biggest Intelligence Failures for the Israeli Intelligence apparatus. One of the best in the world, this is a country that prides itself on its intelligence reach. And again, in that overnight Press Conference with the israeli spokesperson for the military, he talked about and he was asked about this repeatedly, why this Intelligence Failure . How did you not see this was coming . This wouldve been a very complex, months in planning kind of operation. He says this is not a question for now. We are focused on gaining control. Now, my colleagues, our colleagues in washington d. C. , courtney and dan to lose, one senior u. S. Military official says that they were not tracking this. This is a direct quote. And other u. S. Officials told nbc news that if israel knew there was an imminent attack, they didnt tell washington. But look, israel does not and of course theyve got very newly friendly arab allies. Theyre working to normalize relationships with saudi arabia, the work very closely with the United States. So if this was an Intelligence Failure for the u. S. Sorry, for israel, clearly their allies, including the u. S. , didnt share that information. Molly hunter, nbc news foreign correspondent, thank you so much for giving us this critical information. I appreciate it. And now, lets bring in nbc news capitol hill correspondent Julie Tsirkin now. Weve got reaction from washington d. C. , courtesy of julie. Julie, good morning. What are lawmakers now saying now that its been about a day, 24 hours, since that attack occurred in israel . Republicans and democrats largely and unequivocal physically are condemning hamas for this attack on israel. You saw pretty much everybody stand in line on that, saying that these tariffs attacks were unacceptable. Saying that the u. S. Will do anything they can to eight israel in their recovery, and trying to backtrack and figure out some of those Intelligence Failures you heard molly lay out their. I want to point out just a couple of these statements weve been seeing. One of them from Minority Leader mcconnell in the senate. He actually compare the situation to what is going on in ukraine, with russias invasion there. He said, quote, terrorist responsible for this ongoing war against israel were trained and equipped by iran. The same terrorists providing lethal drones to russia to attack ukraine. Failure to support under attack in kyiv or tel aviv will only embolden the Worlds LargestState Sponsor of terrorism and fellow authoritarians. Obviously, his statement very relevant, because congress is also now considering ukraine funding. Funding for the war torn country, where mary republicans including those who have countered the fact that they need to continue providing you of course, mcconnell always Standing Grounds for that but now youre saying that Everybody Needs to come together to Support Israel as well. Julie, talk to us about the fact that america doesnt have an ambassador on the ground in israel at this time. And he moves to be able to get an ambassador in place sooner versus later . Certainly this is a major problem. Not only for the ambassador in israel, but you also recall senator holding frigid plus Military Nominations on the floor, holding them so they cant be confirmed. This is certainly an issue when you have these positions that are vacant and a foreign Global Crisis of this magnitude. And you saw a tweet, for example, from senator chris murphy who said he talk to the Foreign Relations chairman, who is now stepping in for some hermite as well he looked through his legal troubles. You see that tweet on your screen. He said we both ree that we need to move jack lewis, he is the nominee that biden, presidenbin, had handed down to Congress Last month. The nomination to be the ambassador to israel, as the senates First Business when we reconvene. The senate is out the next week, and i have not seen any calls from republicans or democrats to hurry them back any sooner. Schumer of course is on a codel to china right now. But it is clear that both sides, republicans and democrats, think and agree that the Ambassador Position needs to be filled so that he can be there dealing with some of these diplomatic issues that are rising right now, and that there is a presence shown to the world that there is an ambassador in this position, that the u. S. Is taking this seriously. And i expect to bring to my sources, they will move on this. They will schedule a Committee Hearing for mr. Lewis as soon as they get back in a week, and hopefully will put him on the floor shortly after that. Nbc news capitol hill correspondent Julie Tsirkin, thanks for joining us. I appreciate you, as always. And still to come, the Intelligence Community still reeling for what theyre calling a stunning failure of israel, to miss what hamas was happening. Ing. Ing. I was stuck. This morning, the Israeli Defense were saying the number of israelis killed since hamas launched its attack yesterday has risen to 350. The Palestinian Ministry of health in gaza says that the death toll among palestinians has increased to 313, including 20 children. As israel ramps up its counteroffensive military operations against hamas, israels army is exchanging fire as well with militants on lebanons border. Joining me now, retired United States army colonel jack jacobs, metal on a recipient and an msnbc military analyst. Colonel, the news this morning, the Lebanese Group has bullet claiming responsibility for targeting three israeli sites in an area known as shaw, using missiles and artillery. What does it mean to you that hezbollah is claiming responsibility for launching an attack on israel on the northern border of the country while israel is battling hamas on the Southern Border at the same time . Wl, hezbollah is being encouraged by hamas to open up the second front in Northern Israel. Of course, this happened before previous wars, and thatcks there are probably going to intensify. While israel is trying to clear hamas from southern israel, opening up a second front at a time where israel is in disarray is probably the kind of thing that would make it much easier for hamas to continue to do what theyre doing in southern israel. So we can see an increased number of attacks by hezbollah in Northern Israel. And should israel also have a concern about its western flanks, in terms of the west bank, may that open up a third front that israel has to be having a Ground Battle or a Ground Offensive that they have to deal with . Well, its interesting you mention that. Its happened before, and israel of course is going to make a decision soon on whether or not the Ground Forces inside gaza. Its done not before, so they want to stay inside gaza. But there are israeli hostages there and netanyahu is going to be pressure to move israeli troops into gaza to try to free them, and to affect some kind of retribution for the attacks. That makes israels reserves weaker in other areas, as you mentioned, in the west and also in the north. Its going to make life extremely difficult over the mid term for israel to control its western area and the western bank, and the Northern Area where hezbollah is located. This is extremely complicated, although i must say that israels first order task is to get the hostages back, which itself is difficult enough. There were hostages held by hamas inside israel, some of those groups are encircled by israeli soldiers, but israel has not yet made a decision about how its going to do with it. There are also hostages that hamas has taken into gaza, its got to deal with those two. And now with hostilities on the in the north with lebanon, and the possibility as you mentioned of uprisings in the western bank, israel is going to have its hands full, trying to get control of its own area, katie. Colonel, we just heard from nbc news capitol hill correspondent Julie Tsirkin that a u. S. Military analyst u. S. Military official said, quote, we were not tracking this. Because i wrote this down and i thought this was important. The u. S. Is in tracking this attack or the planning that led up to this attack. Apparently israel didnt even have it on its proverbial radar as well. Why do you think the global Intelligence Community did not see this coming at such a coordinated level of an offensive move by hamas, on so many different fronts . You would think that even the ramp up to this wouldve been something that wouldve been on somebodys radar. Its quite astonishing, and there will be plenty of investigations to find out why this is so. But youre absolutely right. There is such close cooperation between israeli and american intelligence. We cooperate to get intelligence information to ukraine, both israel and the United States. It is difficult to envision how hamas could have, even over a long period of time, even quietly, accumulated so many missiles from iran, positioned them to attack, at the ready. These kinds of things are relatively easy to detect. In addition, we have u. N. Intelligence. The israelis have u. N. Intelligence access inside gaza. One of the things that comes to mind is that hamas may have spent a long period of time getting rid of, isolating, imprisoning those people who they fought or even thought were fifth columnists inside gaza, making it difficult for israel to get Human Intelligence out of gaza and correlate that with other information that they have. Even so, it is difficult to envision how american, western, and Israeli Intelligence couldve miss this. Ill tell you Something Else thats really quite astonishing. You saw and showed videos of Hamas Breaching the barriers between gaza on the one hand and israel on the other. Physical barriers, with bulldozers and explosives. The fact that this area was not covered by direct fire, it indicates and demonstrates that there was an enormous complacency on the part of the israelis about hamas, about what its capabilities were, i mean, to see hamas soldiers breach these barriers without being fired on and with such great ease, demonstrates and normas failure on the part of the Israeli Defense force. Were going to hear a lot more about this when all the smoke has lifted, katie. Colonel, im glad that you brought that up. For our viewers, youre seeing that on your screen right now. You can see a bulldozer, and that is actually the southern perimeter of israel, and the northern border of the gaza strip, along that Southern Border of israel, you can see the bulldozer taking it down that fence. And to your point, colonel, it wasnt armed. Or it doesnt appear to have been armed by any israeli soldiers. So, colonel, my question is, as the Israeli Defense force worked to be able to repel these invaders, to be able to safely recover any hostages that are still on israeli soil and those that have actually gone over into the gaza strip, do they then have to reinforce as well in terms of a Military Presence to fix up and to shore up that southern perimeter that we see, that was breached by so easily, by hamas . Theyre going to have to build it up to be sure. Anybody thats been in israel knows that even in the past, and i know that this is recent, but in the past there have been armed controls readily patrolling these areas. Israeli patrols, to make sure that anybody can be seen whose gathering to try to make an assault on the barrier. Yeah, theyre going to have to build it up physically. But theyre going to have to establish new protocols to make sure that the area is physically patrolled and covered by fire. It is just amazing and that this area was breached so easily. You mentioned the hostages. Thats one thing to keep in mind. Getting hostages back, its not easy, physically. And hostages, its possible even likely that hostages will be lost in the attempt to freedom. One of the reasons hamas, and only one of the reasons that hamas has taken hostages is so that if they can exchange them for hamas hostages that were held in israeli prisons, but thats not the only reason. Its to demonstrate that hamas, the palestinian cause, is still alive. And in the era that you mentioned, warring relations have exist and begun between saudi arabia on the one hand and israel on the other, hamas has been increasingly isolated. And now they want to demonstrate that theyre still around. Nevertheless, again as you mention, this attack has been planned for a long, long time. Its not just the result of warring relations recently between saudi arabia and israel through the auspices of the United States. This has been developed, the plan has been developed over a long period of time. Thats astounding that nobody picked it up, katie. Colonel jack jacobs, so grateful for you taking the time to join us this morning and to share your Ible Experience and insight. Thanks for being here. Thanks for having me on. Of course, sir. Hezbollah, a lebanon Militant Group is claiming responsibility for Firing Dozens of rockets and shells at three israeli positions in a disputed area along the border, with syrias in a statement, hezbollah said that the attack was in solidarity with the quote, palestinian resistance. Israels military says it hit back with Drone Strikes on hezbollah targets, with the borders of israel, lebanon, and syria. Joining me now is zurid some hobby, founder and president of alma, a nonprofit in independent research specializing in israels Security Challenges on its northern border. Sorry, thank you so much. I know youre joining us live from tough on, which is seven miles from the lebanese border. How is the situation on the ground where you are . Everybody that is serving there was and local initiatives. All contributing to the effort of war. Civilians are next to the border with lebanon, and it is a cell of evacuation and they are not going to stay in these communities which are fenced events with the borderline. We understand that the escalation that happened is in an area that we check from syria in 1967, this escalation can very easily expand to the rest of the lebanese border. We dont know, and since we dont know, we know what happened yesterday. And we are staying next to the shelters, the shelters have opened. The read, are you startled by that speed by which has blanc has now joined in the fray . We know that there was obviously the invasion by hamas on the Southern Border of israel, but i know one of the focuses for your organization is this Risk Conflict along the northern border. So were you surprised by how quickly has blood claimed responsibility, and did those strikes from lebanon into Northern Israel . I was surprised that it didnt happen sooner. We saw the preparations in the past two years, and when i saw that this was happening in the south and not in the north, my assumption was that there is a dilemma for under huge pressure by the iranians to join in. And eventually, they joined in. And there high chances that it will expand. I hope that it is not the tension between being an israeli murder and being an expert. Whether i understand that what we are experiencing is actually an iranian government against israel that was fled long ago. All these excuses about the palestinian resistance, they could care less about the palestinians lives. All they care about is to carry out the iranian vision, as was published in the past year. All rain going against israel, rating from various voters. So yesterday, there was huge pressure that haslett was joining. My guess is that you will see some incidents from syria as well, maybe within the next few days. These are the retaliations. Its very important to understand what this is heading, and i hope that the Israeli Government goes with the International Community and will sign a very clear message for these radical Terrorist Organizations that this is going against our values. That this is not a campaign against israel, and theyre not going to tolerate it. Neither us, nor the western allies. Hezbollah has said if israel moves Ground Troops into gaza, and this is a quote, if israel moves Ground Troops into gaza, they will meet all of our forces in the north. What are the Security Challenges that israel has if its trying to focus its attention on the Southern Border, and dealing with hamas down there, if hezbollah says that theyre going to meet and put all of their exerted forces on the northern border of israel . I think the big question is that if we dont have a Ground Attack, they wont do anything. [inaudible] so, i think this publication was just words. And i dont think they have any way to relate to that. Theyre looking for excuses and they find them. If its not a Ground Attack, its Something Else. I am not worried about it. The bottom line is this idea that they have to find a way to send a clear message to hamas, after what happened yesterday. Its not another operation, as our Foreign Minister said. Hes wrong. This was initiated law by terrace organizations. We cannot tolerate it. Hamas is responsible for what is happening, and hamas is responsible for these deaths, not israel. I think this is what Everybody Needs to understand, and it doesnt matter what its got to do with a Ground Attack or an air attack. It doesnt matter. What matters is that we have to defend ourselves. We cannot tolerate 300 israelis killed. This means that every is really that no somebody was killed. This is an unacceptable situation, and each of us are asking the question, what if this kind of situation it was happening in their own country . I agree, im so grateful for you to take the time to join us and i am wishing you safety, do you and your family, as you are so close to the border up there near lebanon. Thank you for joining us this morning. As israel reckons with a Surprise Attack from hamas this weekend, it nears another attack 50 years ago that also caught the nation offguard. On october 6th 1973, on the jewish holiday of yang copper, israel was attacked on two fronts by syrian and egyptian forces. With some soldiers on leave celebrating the holiest day of the jewish calendar, the Israeli Military, caught unprepared by the initial attack, but leader regain ground. The conflict would eventually and 90 days laterwhen a cease fire brokered by the united nations, but not before Tens Of Thousands of lives would be lost on both sides. Thou and suddenly, thats just one of the many conflicts that have come to define the region throughout history. Joining me now is a professor of history at bryce university. Doug, its always so good to see you. This attack may have been a surprise, but the history of tension and violence in that region goes way back. Goes back decades. And i think context is always important, and i thought who best to ask but Doug Brinkley about context . So. Canyon hills as best as you can how we got to where we are now . Got to where we are now well, you began by this was a giant event. Thousands dead, president Richard Nixon gave israel its full unwavering support just like we heard President Biden give netanyahu. The problem is that the United States led to the oil embargo, and gas prices went up in the United States. So it started affecting everybodys life in america, and its one of the things that actually started leading to the downfall of nixon instead of watergate, and turned back a lot of American Environmental measures. The key thing always at this juncture is that israel is our greatest friend, we have a special relationship, its a democracy, we need to defend it. And i think biden and is like comes to the age of israel in a time of strife and horror, and i think all americans of good conscious feel terrible for what happened to israel. And the United States will have the Netanyahu Governments back for the first waves of action. You talk about the importance of that relationship between the United States and israel, and a slew of president s, american president s, who have honored i think the specialty of that relationship. But simultaneously, within the last few weeks, theres been discussions about the normalization of relations between saudi arabia and israel. How does President Biden kind of thread that needle . Because i think the chances of that Normalization Happening are probably slim to none now. Thats the thing that really breaks my heart. I think the Biden Administration was on the cusp of brokering a historic, epic friendship. At camp david rejects if youd like, with saudi arabia. This wouldve been a giant thing in the United States for the u. N. , and the rest of the worlds a saudi and israel couldve gotten on the same page. We were moving in that direction, this drills it for a year or years. And so its another followed already, which points to this being a very major event that were dealing with right now. Its not just going to be the death toll or the Hostage Crisis thats going down, which brings back memories of jimmy carter and the iran Hostage Crisis, and the idea of hamas using human shields. Were in what we always try to have as a Peace Process in the middle east to avoid exactly whats conspiring right now. Doug, im glad you brought up iran, because i feel like thats kind of a specter thats looming over all of this. Obviously, we dont have confirmed intel that this was thirdparty iranbacked work that was done by hamas, but we do know that iran funds and provides assistance to up hamas, as well as hezbollah. I dont know if you are listening to the prior guest that we had, but theres a northern battle thats going on in the country of israel, courtesy of hezbollah, which is iranbacked. How does the United States also add into the mix the fact that iran may have had its fingerprints over everything thats happening to israel as we sit here right now . Its very troublesome. I mean, when we look at what happened in 9 11 and there were fingerprints of saudis all over it, and we still havent gotten to the bottom of it. Were going to need to find out but it looks like a lot. I mean, theyre basically funding hamas. Iran is a sworn enemy of the United States and israel. Yesterday, in the streets of tehran, people were celebrating the death of israel. This is a Serious International problem we have right now, and its going to spill over. It already has, into the 2024 president ial campaign. President biden did an excellent job in my mind as commander in chief, saying all the right things. But the gop will be going after him, that he was doing business with releasing american hostages with iran, paying billions of dollars. Thats going to go to the narrative that this could have been avoided, if wed been ostracizing and containing around properly. I think thats a lot of political who we, i mean youre always trying to get your americans released like President Biden did for a run. And this probably would have happened nevertheless. But we have to realize that thats happening, both on the right and trump are going to try to pummel that this is bidens mistake that were watching on television right now. Doug, ive got less than a minute, but i want you again to provide some context to our viewers. Talk about exactly how small amount of real estate were talking about here. Im obsessed with looking at maps, im a little old school. Im a little old, quote unquote. But im also obsessed with maps, and when i look at this map and we look at the amount of real estate that were talking about, its not just dirt. It means so much to the different people that are there. But i want to get our viewers to understand why theres been such a battle over a very small amount of land. Well, its considered the holy land, and jerusalem in particular is the crossroads of the entire middle east. I once went to israel with president carter, and i met one evening with and behind him was a beautiful picture of jerusalem. The next night, we went into gaza city and had dinner with the exact same picture of jerusalem. Meaning that people dont know what part of land belongs to who, or there are ancient feuds that existed long before the United States was even born. And you add that this is in the middle of the christian holy land, where American Christians go and pay pilgrimage to belgium and other sites where every three feet of land and little squares are studied in israel from an archaeological point of view, from a spiritual and holy point of view, and from today, a geopolitical point of view. So we are looking at what might seem small, and acreage, which is actually kind of the Heart And Soul Of Human Civilization in the middle east. And as hard as we try, jimmy carter tried desperately to have a campaign. As ex president , he fought to have a pill sitting homeland. Almost as You Somerall Acquiesce work there, that fails. And these situations, every ten or 15 years were brought shed unnecessarily takes to the streets. Professor Doug Brinkley, as i promised and you delivered, thank you for the context. Prime minister benjamin or donate at mercyships. Org. Netanyahu, on the warpath this morning, promising vengeance for what he calls quote, this black day. Saturday Surprise Attack from hamas could be yet another defining moment for netanyahu. The Ultraconservative Leader is widely known for being combative, and fighting controversy from decisions like performing the judicial system in israel. Joining me now is doctor guy Associate Professor at the department of Foreign Policy and global security. Professor, its so good to have you here. I have to ask, strain of the gate to you. How will netanyahus deepened, im going to say torture, tortured experience with the Israeli Government inform how he continues to respond to this attack from hamas . Well, first, let me just say that the israelis right now are united behind the government and its attempt to respond to hamass unprovoked aggression. What israelis have witnessed in the last 24 hours is not just soldiers, but entire families and children being taken hostage. Hamas fighters breaking into peoples homes, shooting innocent people point blank, there was a corpse of a naked woman being paraded through the streets by hamas fighters. And residents of communities along the gaza border were murdered in cold blood. So i think right now the nation is not only thinking politics as much as Fighting Hamas and the attempt to get rid of the hamas infrastructure and really destroying the military wing of hamas. That said, netanyahu bears a good responsibility for this disaster. Its one of the biggest disasters to ever befall israel, and of course it took place under his watch. Israel has seen months of public protests because of things like netanyahus judicial reforms, which critics say weekends the courts and hands unbridled power to the government, endangering rights and liberties of Israeli Citizens. Do you think that these domestic conflicts at the feet of netanyahu actually render their country ill prepared for this kind of attack . I do. Netanyahu has carefully cultivated a self image as israels minister of security. But now we see his is really deterrence crumble under his leadership. And israel finds itself in a pretty precarious place in this 75th year of existence. Its more polarized and divided today before within the and israels enemies can smell this weakness, as weve seen in the past 24 hours. And as you point out, his government has been pushing for a judicial overhaul that would weaken the supreme court, despite widespread public opposition to these socalled reforms, that has led to a serious deterioration of cohesion in israeli society. In general, im within the idea in particular that has harmed the idea of operational readiness. And so israels enemies have clearly sensed this weakness and have been looking for various ways to exploit it. That being said, for example, president after 9 11 had the opportunity to rehabilitate his public image. Do you think that if netanyahu handles and deals with this hamas attack and the war with hamas as well as he possibly can, considering and being respectful of loss of life, et cetera, do you think thats a possibility for him to maybe refurbish his public image and maybe be able to garner some more support that he might have lost recently . Temporarily, perhaps. But i think that his days are numbered. Throughout his years of power, he did almost all he could to undermine president mahmoud devos, who is the elected leader of the Palestinian Authority. A more pragmatic figure, and that has only strengthened and emboldened hamas. Hes made deals with hamas, prisoner exchanges, transferring money to hamas, basically empowering hamas in a way that undermines the Palestinian Authority in the west bank. And i think that many of his actions in retrospect will be seen to have led to a serious deterioration of israeli deterrence. These are the hamas and Islamic Jihad as well. Doctor, thank you so much for joining us this morning and for providing such insight into bibi netanyahu. I appreciate it.
