On 1 January Britain’s ITV aired the first episode of a four-part series Mr Bates vs the Post Office. The drama, which looks into the wrongful prosecution of 736 sub-postmasters, has been breaking viewing and streaming records ever since and has seen the UK Government committing, to date, to compensation payments amounting to millions of pounds.
