MPL) said it is now valued at $945 million after picking up $95 million in its Series D funding round, more than
double from the valuation when it raised capital in September last year.
The round was led by Composite Capital and Moore Strategic Ventures, with participation from Base Partners, RTP Global, SIG, Go-Ventures, Telstra Ventures, Founders Circle and Play Ventures. MPL’s early investors include Sequoia India and Times Internet*.
With this, the company has racked up a total of $225.5 million since its inception in 2018.
The gaming startup plans to use the funds raised to expand its e-sports portfolio and strengthen its efforts to organise more eSports tournaments at both national and international levels at scale. The proceeds raised will also be used to accelerate MPL's overseas expansion this year.
