Knoxville-headquartered Regal Cinemas has a message for movie fans: It's time to return to theaters.
This weekend, the chain reopens the rest of its Knoxville theaters, which first closed in March 2020 as the pandemic spread to the United States.
Some early reopening tests have been met with excitement. Regal reopened its flagship Knoxville theater, Pinnacle Turkey Creek, on April 2. Almost all of its locations nationwide will be open this weekend.
"Customer response to seeing movies back on the big screen at Pinnacle has been great," Richard Grover, Regal's vice president of communications, said in an email. "The theater has been one of our top performing locations in the circuit."
