Mount Dora police chief search on hold after city manager leaves

MOUNT DORA – With the departure of Mount Dora City manager Robin Hayes, the city's search for a new police chief has been put on hold. 
In a press release, Mayor Cathy Hoechst announced that Brett Meade will remain as the interim chief for the present.
“Although change can be difficult and challenging, I believe the City of Mount Dora has the professional management staff and employees to keep our city moving forward doing the day-to-day activities in addition to focusing on the different projects we have,” she wrote. 
The city sent out a press release late Tuesday, announcing Mount Dora and Hayes agreed to "part ways." Further details were scant at the time.
