As snow blanketed Lycoming County with layer upon layer of white fluff, many motorists in and around the county suffered the drawbacks of extreme winter weather.
The snow began its descent around noon on Wednesday, and quickly stuck around to vex travelers.
One multi-vehicle pileup on I-80 headlined Wednesday’s weather event fiasco, which Gov. Tom Wolf addressed in a Thursday morning press conference alongside Brent Miller, state police corporal. According to Miller, a crash occurred on I-80 in Clinton County around 3 p.m., which led to a backlog and a series of chain-reaction crashes. In all, 55 commercial vehicles and 11 passenger vehicles were affected.
