Mother’s Day nightmare persists, 4 years after Virginia mom of 2 toddlers murdered on I-95

The inequity between what her children have and what they deserve grows wider each year, as every Mother’s Day since 2017 marks the death of a parent they’ll never know.
Sharayne Holland’s younger child, now four, is old enough to express exasperation, and increasingly, the beginnings of painful dissatisfaction. He can only adore pictures of his mother and does not understand why she ceases to exist in flesh and blood.
“'I don’t want to keep kissing this picture,'” Pharaoh's grandparents recounted, as he protested to his sister, Zahara. “'I want to hug, and touch Mommy.'”
