Mother Adopts Military Service Dog of Son Killed in Action

Marine Sgt. Joshua Ashley was on duty in Afghanistan in 2012 when he was hit by an improvised exploding device and got killed. He was 23 and a military dog handler. Joshua's mother, Ashley, took care of his dog until his last remaining days.
