Election Day is here for the city of Morristown.
The city of Morristown is holding election for three City Council seats with two seats having opposition and the last seat being unopposed.
Current City Councilmember Bob Garrett faces challenger Rob Burke for the Ward 1 seat, while Councilmember Kay Senter is being challenged by Charles Cook for the Ward 3 seat. Councilmember Tommy Pedigo is running unopposed for an at-large seat.
Polls opened at 8 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m.
A threat of storms are forecasted to come through the area throughout the day with a chance of precipitation at 60%, according to the National Weather Service. The threat of rain could lead to lower voter turnout, election officials said.
