More than 800 vaccinated at Durant event
DURANT – Some 800 appointments were booked online prior to a Jan. 6 vaccination event in Durant.
By the end of that day, registered nurses from Oklahoma State Department of Health had inoculated 814 residents of Bryan County 65 or older along with front-line health workers and first responders against COVID-19. No one was turned away. Only short lines were reported after the first two hours of the eight-hour event.
Appointments were made for all of the recipients to receive part two of Moderna vaccinations on Feb. 3.
Vaccinations for the public will continue Jan. 13, 20 and 27. Doors will open at 10 a.m. for those with an appointment at the Choctaw Event Center, U.S. Highway 75 and Choctaw Road.
