More than 700 marriage licenses issued virtually during COVID-19 pandemic in Washtenaw County

The County Clerk/Register’s office Vital Records Division has helped more than 700 couples get married completely online throughout the pandemic.

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — Washtenaw County’s innovative use of an electronic marriage software is being recognized by the technology company that created it.
The Washtenaw County Clerk’s Office was named a 2021 Tyler Public Sector Excellence award winner at Tyler Technologies’ annual Connect user conference in April.
The office’s vital records division was recognized as a winner because of its innovative strategy in deploying Tyler’s eMarriage solution and other technology in innovative ways to serve the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, officials said.
