More than 400 quilts find homes in past year thanks to Bloomington Quilters Guild
Local guild's Community Quilts project dates back to group's early days

GIving a little comfort to kids and others in need is part of what the Bloomington Quilting Guild does when the members donate quilts to area agencies, which they've done for years. Members donate time, fabric and quilting prowess so that monthly donations can be made to a variety of organizations.
"Huggy quilts" go to Middle Way House, for the children there. Those fabrics are likely to sport dinosaurs, trucks or roses. Quilts go, too, to the Bloomington Police Department so that a frightened child might have a more comfortable ride in a squad car.
