More illegally-open bars, restaurants get liquor licenses suspended

Another five restaurants have had their liquor licenses suspended for being open in violation of Michigan’s health orders.
The Michigan Liquor Control Commission announced the latest violations on Tuesday, Dec. 29. All of the businesses must attend a Zoom hearing in front of an Administrative Law Judge, who will determine if further fines and liquor license suspensions are warranted.
The MLCC has suspended licenses at 31 establishments since September.
Michigan health orders mandate bars and restaurants can’t be open for indoor dine-in seating through Jan. 15. Masks are also required.
