Moodbidri, Feb 13: Radio is a highly democratic and credible medium which has the widest geographical reach. It offers an open platform for the people from every walk of life, said Chandrashekhar Shetty, National spokesperson, association of Akashavani and Doordarshan Engineering Employees.
He was speaking on the occasion of World Radio Day celebrated at the department of PG Studies in Journalism and Mass Communication at Alva’s College here on Saturday.
He said radio is here to sustain. “Everybody predicted radio would die with the invention of television. However, it survived the competition even in the age of social media,” he said.
