Deputies, detectives and crime scene investigators responded around 10:20 p.m. to 103 Montegut St. to investigate shots fired, the Sheriff’s Office said. They found the two women suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Authorities announced three suspects had been arrested Friday in connection with the shootings.

Authorities identified the suspects as Beaux Cormier, 35, of Kaplan; Andrew Eskine, 25, of Carencro; and Dalvin Wilson, 22, of Eunice. Each is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
What was motive in Montegut shootings?
Terrebonne Sheriff Tim Soignet said the three men conspired in a murder-for-hire plot hatched by Beaux Comier, who is Brittany Cormier’s brother. He had been arrested in Vermillion Parish on a third-degree rape charge of a relative. Investigators say he hired Eskine and Wilson to kill the rape victim to prevent her from testifying against him in court. Brittany Cormier was shot to death by Wilson after telling him she was the rape victim, which may have saved the life of the intended target, authorities said. Nettleton was Brittany Cormier’s neighbor who had come by for a visit when the incident occurred. Authorities said Nettleton struggled with the gunman before he shot her.
