Moderna executives are sharing what they believe are the next steps needed to bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic.During a presentation to investors on Wednesday, leaders of the Cambridge-based company outlined a strategy to battle COVID-19 variants, as they think the coronavirus will not be going away anytime soon."What we expect to have happen over the coming one to two years is a series of variant driven epidemics ... until we're able to protect the majority of humans and achieve something akin to herd immunity," said Dr. Stephen Hoge, president of Moderna.Hoge and other Moderna executives say they believe COVID-19 could be a more seasonal virus, much like other respiratory viruses, in about two years.
