Do you think the country is in need of a third major political party ? Former 10th district Congressman Paul Mitchell of Lapeer County is among a group of 150 independent and current-and-former Republicans founding the group “A Call For American Renewal.” Organizers of the new group call for a return to the founding ideals of the GOP and urge the party part ways with former President Donald Trump. Mitchell tells the Detroit News, “Enough of the drama. Enough of the turmoil. America has problems it needs to solve.”
