Mitch McConnell says conspiracy theories are 'cancer' for Republicans

Top US Senate Republican Mitch McConnell launched a scathing criticism of conspiracy theories, describing them as a "cancer" to the country and the Republican brand.
In a thinly veiled attack on QAnon-supporting Georgia congresswoman, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Mr McConnell issued a withering condemnation of what he described as “loony lies” on Monday.  
Pressure is mounting on the party leadership to discipline – or even disown – Ms Greene, an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, who has pushed an array of bizarre conspiracy theories, including that school shootings had been faked and the 2018 California wildfires were started by a space laser operated by the Rothschild family.
