REPORTER: DAYS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE, TEACHERS IN MISSOURI CAN NOW GET VACCINATED FOR COVID-19 THROUGH THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S FEDERAL PHARMACY PROGRAM AT PLACES LIKE WALMART AND SAM’S CLUB. >> I THINK IT’S SO CRITICAL THAT TEACHERS AND STAFF, ANYBODY THAT WORKS WITH CHILDREN NEEDS TO BE VACCINATED. REPORTER: TEACHERS IN KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS HAVE BEEN VIRTUAL FOR THE PAST YEAR. >> THERE’S A SENSE OF RELIEF ACROSS THE DISTRICT. OK. MOST OF THEM ARE VERY RELIEVED THAT THE VACCINE IS HERE. REPORTER: TRUMAN MEDICAL CENTERS UNIVERSITY HEALTH PLANS TO VACCINATE 15,000 EDUCATORS AT MORE THAN A DOZEN DISTRICTS WITH PFIZER’S VACCINE. THE FIRST DOSES BEGIN MARCH 15 WHEN MISSOURI LAUNCHES TEACHER VACCINATIONS. THE SECOND ROUND BEGINS >> WE’RE APRIL 15. LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT. THERE’S BEEN A LOT OF PLANNING GOING INTO THAT. WE THINK IT WILL PAY HUGE DIVIDENDS, AND WE’LL GET EDUCATORS VACCINATED.
