MISSION VIEJO, CA — Drivers in Mission Viejo, be aware: Memorial Day weekend is a maximum enforcement period, the California Highway Patrol agency says. Both CHP and local authorities remind everyone to buckle up and drive safely over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
CHP's Maximum Enforcement Period begins at 6 p.m. this Friday and continues through 11:59 p.m. Monday.
Throughout the weekend, officers will be scanning for distracted drivers or those impaired by drugs or alcohol, the CHP said in a statement.
