A former London Drugs manager convicted of stealing from the store spent a night in custody after missing an appointment with his conditional sentence supervisor.
Mark Krug, 35, appeared in provincial court Wednesday. He admitted he missed an appointment with his sentence supervisor March 17.
The supervisor notified the Crown of his absence and prosecutors issued a warrant.
The RCMP did not immediately act on the warrant, however, until the correctional officials called the police to remind them they needed to act.
Krug was arrested at his home Tuesday around 8 p.m. He spent the night in an RCMP jail cell.
Defence lawyer Jeremy Jensen told the court perhaps the sentence supervisor could have showed a little understanding and called Krug before telling the Crown he had breached his sentence.
