ST. PAUL, Minn. – A group representing small businesses in Minnesota is asking the legislature to give workers incentives to stop drawing the $300 federal unemployment benefits.
Mike Hickey with the National Federation of Independent Business is backing a bill in the Minnesota House that would give a $2,000 bonus to those who come off unemployment, return to work and stay on the job for at least 90 days.
Hickey says, “It is time to fully reopen our economy and for workers to return to work,” which he claims will not only help small business owners recover from the pandemic, but also find people they desperately need to fill open positions.
