Days later, Brockton and State Police obtained an arrest warrant for Normil.
In July 2020, Normil was added to the State Police's Top 10 Most Wanted list for its violent fugitive apprehension section. His wanted poster said he was considered "armed and dangerous" and mentioned previous convictions for assault and weapons offenses.
Normil was located in the Dominican Republic on Oct. 21, 2020, and placed in custody by U.S. Marshals. He was taken to New York and taken into custody as a fugitive from justice.
He pleaded not guilty to murder in Brockton District Court eight days later.
Normil will be arraigned in Brockton Superior Court at a later date. Assistant District Attorney Joseph Janezic will prosecute the case.
