ROCKFORD — A bank robbery on the city’s east side Wednesday morning is under investigation, police said.
Midland States Bank, 1700 N. Alpine Road, was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and the robber fled on a bicycle.
Police did not indicate whether the robber was armed or if anyone was injured during the robbery.
Shortly after noon Wednesday, police said officers were investigating an armed robbery at the Aldi Supermarket, 6650 East State St.
The robber left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robberies are not thought to be connected.
