Microsoft's Power Platform is an umbrella term comprising of Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents. The idea is to have a single platform that allows organizations to build end-to-end business solutions and connect them with other existing solutions such as Office 365, Dynamics 365, Azure, and dozens of other apps. Now, the company may be working on a new low-code language for the Power Platform.
Reputable leaker WalkingCat revealed on Twitter that Microsoft is working on a "formula based low-code" language for Power Platform. ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley then expanded on this claim, saying that Power Fx will likely target users of Microsoft Excel. As can be seen in the screenshot above the "fx" symbology is used in Excel to allow users to enter Excel formulas and plaintext.
