Doramise Moreau never thought that her act of kindness and hospitality would be a blessing in disguise. As always, she was doing what she loved – cooking at her church and feeding thousands of people. Moreau has a soft spot for the needy, a woman whose selflessness made headlines and earned her a brand-new car.
“Sometimes when you’re looking at people in their face, they don’t need to ask you … you can see they need something,” Moreau told Local 10.
Weekly, Moreau strives to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. When she comes from work, she borrows a truck from the Notre Dame d’Haiti Catholic Church, a church that’s well attended in Miami’s little Haiti neighborhood, which is also where she worships. Using the donations given to the church, Moreau purchases groceries that would be used for that particular week.
