The Mountain Home High School girls’ basketball team started its five-game home stand on a rough note Friday. The Lady Bombers fell to Alma 56-53 in a game that was close throughout.
Addison Yates came out firing, as she scored all 12 of Mountain Home’s first quarter points, but the Lady Airedales were never far away, as the game had five ties and three lead changes. Alma had a one-point lead at the break, and the score was tied at the end of the third period. The Lady Airedales built a seven-point lead, their largest advantage, on a pair of threes by Presli Taylor. The margin was two, with the Lady Bombers having an opportunity to tie or take the lead, but Alma came up with a steal, and Mountain Home was forced to foul with 2.9 seconds left. Halyn Carmack hit one of two free throws, and Yates had one more opportunity, but the shot from beyond half court was off the mark.
