MG Hector Plus seven-seater model's India launch next month
Key Highlights
Hector Plus seven-seater model will compete against Mahindra XUV500 and upcoming Tata Gravitas
MG will also increase prices of its models from next month
MG Hector Plus was showcased at Auto Expo 2020 and its price in India was revealed in July. It is essentially a three-row version of Hector SUV. So far, only the six-seater version is on sale in India but the company is now ready to introduce the seven-seater model. MG noted that Hector Plus' seven-seater model will be launched in India next month. When launched, it will rival the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and even Toyota Innova Crysta. However, it will find a direct rival in Tata Gravitas which too will go on sale next year. Besides announcing Hector Plus' launch period, the company also announced an impending price hike on its entire range. The price hike, which will come into effect from 1 January, 2021, will see MG car's prices in India increase by up to three per cent, depending upon variant and model. The company, just like other carmakers, has ascribed this decision to factors like increasing input costs.
