The Mets' offense couldn't back up David Peterson, as the Rockies picked up a 3-2 win in Citi Field on Monday night.
Peterson was on the mound for the Mets and had a rough start. After a mostly quiet first inning, Peterson gave up two solo home runs in the second inning to open things for the Rockies and give them a quick 2-0 lead.
Later on in the fourth, after putting a runner on base with a walk, Peterson gave up a triple to deep center which brought in another run.
Johneshwy Fargas crashed hard into the centerfield wall trying to make the catch on the play, and looked pretty banged up afterwards. He finished the inning out, but was replaced by Cameron Maybin, while Khalil Leet ook Maybin's spot out in right.
