Meredith officials looking at options for pedestrian safety
May 12, 2021MEREDITH Lighted pedestrian signs and expanded speed patrols around problem areas are a few of the ways the town is addressing speeding and traffic safety issues on Main Street.
Safety has been a big concern on Main Street, especially in front of the post office and other areas.
During the selectmen's May 3 meeting, town manager Phil Warren talked about almost getting hit while crossing the street in front of the post office.
"It amazes me how many people regardless of age, sex, demographics, vehicle, whatever ignore certain 6-foot people that are pretty wide in a crosswalk," Warren said.
