April 20, 2021
WASHINGTON, D.C., April 20, 2021 – Earlier this year, the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) added Chinese to its growing list of priority languages. The MEMRI Chinese Media Studies Project is celebrating UN Chinese Language Day today and providing a free subscription to research providing a greater and more nuanced understanding of China, its people, its Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-led government, the CCP's ideology, and the CCP's regional and international aspirations.
For the past 21 years, MEMRI has sought to bridge the language gap between the Arab and Muslim world and the West by providing timely and impactful open-source material in English to Western audiences about the reality of the Middle East, translating primary source material from Arabic, Farsi, Turkish, Urdu, and Pashtu into English and other Western languages.
