MELAKA: Shoplifters in the state are on the rise in the state, and it has nothing to do with the Covid-19 affected economy.
Sadly, Melaka CID Chief Asst Comm Mohd Sukri Kaman (
pic) said most of these cases were linked to habitual shoplifting behaviour.
"Such thieves are reported not only at shopping complexes and grocery outlets, but other business entities too.
"From our findings, those detained were found not facing any financial difficulties, but seem to do it for thrills and have an addiction to stealing," he said in an interview on Friday (Dec 18).
ACP Sukri said that 43 of such incidents were reported between March to Dec 15.
