A former Alabama police officer pleaded guilty to the 2019 murder of his estranged wife on Wednesday. District Attorney Danny Carr says Jason McIntosh pleaded guilty to intentional murder in the Dec. 1 shooting death of Megan Montgomery. Montgomery's body was found with multiple gunshot wounds early in the morning on the campus of Mountain Brook High School.He is sentenced to 30 years in prison.Carr says he hopes that this will "allow Megan's family to have some closure and begin the healing process."McIntosh worked for the Birmingham, Mountain Brook and Hoover police departments during his career as a police officer.Montgomery was known and loved in the Birmingham area for her passion for animals. She started, and served on, the junior board at the Greater Birmingham Humane Society before her death.
