Meeting between NCHSAA, state senators could happen this week

Raleigh, N.C. — One week after House Bill 91 was proposed in the Senate Committee on Education, representatives from the N.C. High School Athletic Association and state senators may sit down to discuss the concerns that led to proposed legislation that would dissolve the association.
Sen. Vickie Sawyer (R-Iredell) told HighSchoolOT she sent an official invitation to the NCHSAA last week, asking the association to meet with state senators to discuss concerns about the association. Sawyer said the NCHSAA acknowledged receipt of the invitation, but as of Monday afternoon, the association had not yet accepted it.
