LOCAL ELECTIONS
Clockwise from top left: Ian Edwards (Labour), Stephen Litchfield (Green), Elena Mari (Independent) and Jo Morris (Conservative) are standing in the Priory Vale ward on May 6
Priory Vale forms the boundary of Swindon with rural Wiltshire to the west, which is made by the River Ray as it runs north to the Thames.
On the other side of the ward, it’s much harder to see where the boundary with Haydon Wick might be.
The housing developments which characterise both wards run into each other.
Like its neighbour the aerial view of Priory Vale bears the unmistakeable stamp of modern suburban housing developments – lots of short, curving cul-de-sacs coming off trunk roads.
