Medals belonging to British Army officer who sacrificed his own life to save a young Churchill from being hacked to death during 1897 revolt in India sell for £10,000

Lieutenant Victor Hughes led a rearguard action to prevent the future war leader Churchill from being killed during the Malakand Rising of 1897 in India. His medals have now been sold for £10,000.
