McWhinney closes on purchase of Fort Collins' Foothills mall

Foothills mall has new owners and a possible new path forward.
Loveland developer McWhinney purchased the 63-acre Midtown Fort Collins property Tuesday, closing the nine-year chapter of the mall's revitalization under Alberta Development Partners of Greenwood Village. 
Terms of the deal were not immediately available. 
McWhinney and venture partner Prism Places, a 10-year-old Los Angeles-based company focused on retail development, management and merchandising, purchased the property. Prism Places will take over as the mall’s property manager.  
“Foothills is ripe with opportunity to help reenergize the community, and we couldn’t have imagined a more dynamic project to mark our first one in Colorado and first joint venture with McWhinney,” said Stenn Parton, president of Prism Places.
