“It makes us feel pretty special, actually,” co-owner Harry Aggarwal told KTW.
His family owns the shop, having purchased it in 2011 (the name was carried on from a previous owner).
Harry said he does not yet know who sold the June 22 winning ticket to Gary Hill of Kamloops, who split a $70-million Lotto Max jackpot with someone in Ontario.
Hill was not a regular of the shop and the store had been busy. Harry, however, suspects the person that sold the ticket was his mother, who has sold winners in the past two years.
Last year, a winning Set for Life scratch and win ticket was sold at McGoo’s to Angela Gardner, who won $675,000 after scratching three cash symbols. In 2019, someone purchased a $2 crossword scratch and win ticket at the same store and won $25,000.
