Rochester City Councilman and mayoral candidate Malik Evans calls himself an "underdog" in the race for Rochester's mayor. He's looking to win in next month's Democratic primary against Mayor Lovely Warren, who is looking for her third term as mayor.
Evans' campaign, however, has so far won out against Mayor Warren's campaign in terms of fundraising this year.
From Jan. 1-May 25, Board of Elections records show Evans' campaign has raised just over $170,000, compared to $75,000 for Mayor Warren's campaign.
Evans' campaign says it has about $110,000 on hand. Records show the Warren campaign has about $90,000.
