Craig Lewis is fully rigged for a Mathews Ploggers expedition.
A few minutes with Craig Lewis and Jan Towne is all it takes for the talk to turn to trash. As members of the Mathews County Ploggers—an informal group of locals who find roadside trash offensive—the friends are constantly on the lookout for litter.
Whenever Towne takes a stroll around her Onemo neighborhood and down to Bethel Beach, she takes along a trash bag, a pair of gloves, and a trash grabber. Lewis goes her one better. He outfitted an old bicycle child trailer with a large trash can so he can haul in plenty of rubbish on his walks.
