BROOKFIELD — A Youngstown man was arraigned on charges connected to a Nov. 16 robbery of a Masury man.
Allister R. Smith Jr., 27, of 151 W. Florida Ave., is charged with first-degree aggravated robbery. Judge Marty Nosich set Smith’s bond at $35,000 and ordered the defendant have no contact with the victim and surrender all firearms.
A preliminary hearing has been set for Monday in Trumbull County Eastern District Court. If convicted, Smith could face up to 11 years in prison.
A 68-year-old Masury man accused Smith of robbing him after the man did some errands for the older man including buying liquor in Sharon, Pa., and getting a $100 money order from a Rite Aid in Sharon, according to a Brookfield police report. The victim told police that the suspect saw his roll of money earlier and then entered his bedroom and held a gun to his head. The report stated the robber took $1,450 in cash from a red container made of sea shells.
