MASSENA – The Village of Massena on Feb. 1 received slightly less in a quarterly sales tax from the county than for the same period last year.
Village Treasurer Kevin Felt told the board they received $492,071. That’s down $9,332 from the same period last year, he reported.
He said if the federal government passes a COVID-19 relief package that includes direct stimulus payments to people, that could bode well for their next quarterly sales tax take.
It made an impact last year when that first one went out,” Felt said. “I have a feeling it might help us again”
