Massachusetts State Police mourn loss of K9 Tank

A State Police K9 has died after a short battle with an infection, the department said Wednesday.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Massachusetts State Police K9 Tank, the longtime partner of Trooper Thomas Janeczak. Tank passed away Monday evening after a short battle with a vicious infection. Trooper Janeczak was by Tank's side when he passed,” state police said.Sign up for our Newsletters
Tank joined the Massachusetts State Police in 2014 when he and Janeczak were certified through the unit's Patrol School and Narcotic Detection School.
