Maryport has received £11.53 million as part of the Future High Streets Fund to bolster high street businesses and the local economy.
The money will go towards diversify the high street by delivering a multifunctional space available for markets and events.
The funding is part of the Government’s plan to create thousands of jobs in a range of industries across England.
Carlisle was also among the areas that benefited from the funding, receiving £9 million.
